Senagajima Umikaji Terrace is a 15-minute drive from Naha Airport. This is an island resort that was born on a sloping land bordering the west coast of Senagajima Island in 2015. You can dine mainly on local fruits, vegetables, and seafood, and you can also enjoy shopping for Okinawan accessories and clothes. There are more than 40 restaurants and merchandise shops. Business hours are 10: 00-22: 00 except for some stores. Access by train: There is a local bus from Monorail Akamine Station.
Beautiful place to chill and enjoy watching planes taking off/landing in Naha airport. Beautiful clear blue skies and fluffy clouds with the sea and beach. Just lovely exploring this island which is so near to the Airport. We drove to the island in the mid morning and it was already quite busy with carpark lots mostly taken up. One of the highlights of visiting this island is to dine in A Happy Pancake as can be seen by the snake Q outside the cafe. There are quirky shops and food trucks dotted around. We should have planned to visit at the later part of the day for a better experience.
