Paulo gave us a full day tour (walking and van) of Lisbon with emphasis on the Jewish history. He also took us to the small Ashkenazi synagogue where we learned about the synagogue's history from one of the members and viewed many of their historical artifacts, We had a one hour lunch with him in a small restaurant where we were able to learn about his personal history and get more information about Jewish Portugal.

The cork factory was surprisingly interesting and the town of Évora was adorable. The Chapel of Bones is extra (only 5€, but worth it) and you’re on your own for lunch. We picked Tragos E Condutos and had a fabulous meal (get the black pork!). To top it all off, the winery was equally awesome and included a tour of the winery’s carriage museum. It may sound boring, but (again) it was surprisingly cool. Our guide was friendly and knowledgeable and best of all, our tour ended up being private because no one else signed up. Definitely recommend!

This is a late review, but necessary. We thoroughly enjoyed our private day tour with Sintra Magik in Fatima. The Shrine of course was incredible. The visit to the family home and meeting their descendants were equally touching. We sampled the local cuisine and appreciated the hospitality. Our tour of the religious factory allowed us to return with artifacts for our family. We were so fortunate to have a delightful Irish priest bless these keepsakes. An awesome, memorable day. We highly, highly recommend this tour group.

I cannot recommend this tour company enough. I am a difficult person to please when it comes to guided tours and they exceeded my every expectations. We went on a full day tour of SIntra, with a stop at Cabo do Roca (western most point of the European Continent) and Cascais. We were picked up on time at 8.30 outside our hotel by our personal guide Hugo whose mastery of the english language is seriously impressive. he drove us to Sintra in a private care following all Covid prevention measures, and we headed first to the Pena Palace. To have so much explained to us in relation to our own knowledge of European history and architecture was absolutely worth every penny they charge. Then after checking out the village and the main national palace (externally only as per our request) we decided to check out the Quinta de Regaleira which is often overlooked by tourists. This is was highlight because Hugo was able to bring the whole history, mysticism and fun intented by the owner and his scenographer to life. We then proceeded to Cabo da Roca and then to Cascais for a lovely, authentic and delicious lunch (on our own) in Casa Velha . We then had a few hours on our own to discover Cascais and driven back to Lisbon to be left outside at our hotel at 4.30. The entire experience was stress free, rewarding and enlightning and highly recommended. Our particular thanks go to Hugo, for his patience in answering our questions, his humour and friendiness.

If you looking for a professional service to drive and guide you through this beautiful country, the owner of Windland Tours, Goncalo Oliveira, is your man! We hired Goncalo for four days to drive us from western Spain to Porto, Fatima, Coimba and Lisbon. Goncalo is the consummate professional (punctual, courteous,) an excellent driver, nearly fluent English and has a deep knowledge of the history and culture of the Portuguese people which he shared with us on our daily walking tours of each city. He also knows the best restaurants and interesting neighborhoods not always on the typical tourist itinerary. We can't thank Goncalo enough for making this trip one of the best vacations we have had. We hope to return in the future, and our first call will be to Goncalo to arrange the next trip!
