Charming Timisoara is often referred to as “Little Vienna,” and indeed, Austrian influences are evident in the architecture, food and culture. This is a walking city, divided into squares that showcase stunning architectural gems. Downtown is reserved for pedestrians only, and the best time to visit is at twilight, when you can sip a hot wine as you stroll amid sparkling lights.

This tours will take you around the Banat highland region. Throughout history, Banat was at the border of all the empires that spread over the region, most notably the Ottoman and Austrian Empires, which facilitated people of different nations to come in, giving it its multiculturality. The richness of the land turned it into an important industrial hub, around which urban and rural life developed. Empires came and went and the industrial period faded, but what withstood the test of time is a treasure full of natural wonders and beauty. In this tour you will see some of the industrial legacy, meet the multicultural heritage and enjoy the beauty of our natural sights.
Inclusions: Private transportation, Professional guide, All Fees and Taxes

This hiking trip was rather short but packed with interesting experiences, considering that all the stops have something else to offer. I recommend it to anyone eager to explore the great outdoors but who wouldn't necessarily want to push their boundaries to the limit—unless they cannot stand to be in the same place with some friendly bats, hehe. Adelin is very helpful and willing to offer support with anything—transportation, equipment, unexpected issues etc. The itinerary is well-organized and there are a lot of sites to see—in addition to the caves, the gorges and hiking trails are equally rewarding. Would definitely go again :)

This backpacking tour will take you through the wild and adventurous gorges of the Caras river. In the first day we hike our way up the Caras river until we reach the Prolaz Meadow. Along the way we will stop to see some caves and other points of attraction. At the Prolaz Meadow we will see the main attraction, the Caras canyon, after which we stop for a quick lunch. We continue above the gorges, across the Iabalcea hill, and arrive at the Comarnic cave. Here we set our camp, build the campfire and prepare a traditional pot dinner cooked over the fire. In the second day, after breakfast we will enter and visit the Comarnic Cave. After that we will visit the upper part of the Caras Gorges, via an old railway path built through the mountain. Later we head back towards the place where we parked our car and then make a short stop at the Caras Citadel to enjoy a splendid view over the entire Caras Gorges. On our way back to Timsioara, we can stop for dinner in Resita.

Hi became fascinated with northern Romania during a quick trip to Cluj one year. I desperately wanted to tour the wooden churches, painted churches, and to visit the Merry Cemetery, but with a guide. I was beyond fortunate to have found Flavia. Not only is she a wonderful person (and much fun) but made the entire trip come alive for me. She arranged delightful accommodation, where I became a part of the family, and even made sure all of my pesky food allergies were not a problem. Each day was a new adventure into a land like nowhere I had ever been. The sights were beautiful and her knowledge endless. Returning to Cluj and my trip home, she even found time for me to appease my Dracula desires and we were able to visit Hotel Castle Dracula! I strongly encourage anyone visiting Romania to contact Flavia and guarantee you a fantastic holiday!

Due to the current covid situation, I had a private tour that day, which was awesome. Mathias was a great guide, has a lot of general Romanian knowledge along with historical. This made for great conversation on the way to and from the castles. I highly recommend the tour and would gladly do it again with friends and family in the future.

We did this Balkans tour in November last year (2019). It's great that this Tour Company only books small numbers on these tours - there were only 5 of us in the mini van so it was very comfortable. Alex was our guide. He was excellent - very informative, attentive, and you could tell he genuinely wanted to do anything possible to ensure we all got the most out of our trip. He was also open to itinerary changes that suited our group, which meant that even though it was a group tour it still felt very personliased and flexible. We loved all the countries and sites we got to visit. You can tell this Tour Company has spent a lot of time making sure the itinerary is interesting, and that their customers get to see as much as possible in a short amount of time. The hotels have also been carefully selected - they were all in central locations and high quality hotels. Overall this was an excellent tour - great communication leading up to the trip, an excellent guide, fantastic itinerary and hotels, and very good value for money. We would highly recommend Guided Europe Tours to anyone interested in visiting the Bulkans.
