Thrissur is regarded as the cultural capital of Kerala, a beautiful coastal region of southwest India with a history deeply rooted in the spice trade. For an exercise in absolute serenity, schedule an overnight houseboat tour of the local backwaters. If you’re lucky enough to visit during the temple festival of Pooram, you’ll experience lively music performances, fireworks, shadow puppet shows and processionals of beautifully adorned elephants.

Built in 1966, this dam is located at the Mukundapuram taluk of Thrissur over the Chimmony river. An ideal place for a trek. Keep away your mobile, atleast in silent mode........if you can't part with your Fone. Enjoy the nature. Keep drinking water with you handy.

Nice place for evening relax Clean and quiet place.. more beautiful during rainy season. Don't expect too much from this place. It's just a place to relax and spend time. There is a park and a coffee shop adjacent to the dam.there is a hanging bridge also.
