My husband and I stopped at the pottery shop during a visit to the 1000 Islands. We visited in October and leisurely looked at mugs, bowls, vases, wall art and jewelry made by the local artist. We purchased a couple of mugs that reminded us of Island & water scenery of the St. Lawrence. Now mid winter...when I wish for warmer weather and recreation activities on the water, I use the mugs for morning coffee to “revisit” our visit to the 1000 Island region. I believe it’s important to buy local from small businesses as someone vacations. Small business owners appreciate visits stopping, they give personal service, and area made purchases can be great reminders of special getaways. We were given a tour of the kilns and how jewelry is painted. The owner added to our getaway and made our visit memorable. We will stop again.

The Golden Cleat’s nautically inspired fine jewelry collection embodies the spirit of dockside living. Fabricated by hand using the ancient art of lost wax casting, each piece of jewelry is sustainably handcrafted from sterling silver or solid 14k gold and genuine, ethically sourced gemstones. The Golden Cleat’s elegant, timeless designs capture the hearts of free-spirited adventurers who are drawn to the water.
The Golden Cleat has excellent original handmade jewelry. Much, but not all, of the jewelry has a nautical since it is located on the St Lawrence River. The name Golden Cleat comes from a cleat which is mounted on a boat or dock. Salespersons are very friendly and knowledgeable. Customer service is great! I've shopped in their beautiful store and online. I've never been disappointed!

Worth a stop when you’re in the Thousand Islands. Excellent selection of cheeses, as well as freshly fried cheese curds which are out of this world. I bought a 16 year old cheddar, spicy bacon cheese, and an English style cheese spread with whole-grain mustard and ale. Plus 2 orders of fried cheese curds that my friend and I brought and ate at a nearby bar.
