Prepare for an amazing visit to the home of the ancient gods of Greece. Stunning views, lush forests and an archaeological site to remember are the ingredients of an unforgettable experience. We start in the morning with the departure for Dion, the religious center of the Ancient Macedonians dedicated to the worship of Olympian Zeus, situated at the footsteps of the famous Mount Olympus, the mythical home of the Gods. In Dion, Alexander the Great offered rich sacrifices to the Gods before leaving for his legendary expedition to Asia. Enjoy a guided visit of the archaeological site and the museum. Marvel at the site as well as the amazing vistas of the mountain and the forest surrounding it. We continue to the traditional village of Litochoro. You will have free time for a tour of this picturesque village and for a walk in the charming valley of Enipeas, on the low slopes of the mountain before returning to Thessaloniki.

Pillars of rock, sculpted by prehistoric rivers and crowned by otherworldly monasteries, monuments to the power of faith. Meteora means “suspended in space”. Your first, second and third sight of these impossibly tall, vertical rocks will have you gasping in disbelief. But it’s not just the incredible geology that stretches your imagination. It’s the monasteries balanced on these pinnacles. How did they get there? The monks who built them were the original rock climbers, lifting the materials up with pulleys, nets and their bare hands. Today, fans of the sport come to Meteora from the world over, to pit themselves against these gigantic rocks. Unesco has declared Meteora a World Heritage Site. The Greek state calls it a sacred spot, inviolate and immutable. You’ll no doubt come up with other adjectives to describe Meteora, this wonder of the world.

Inclusions: Air-conditioned vehicle, Bottled water, Enter inside three monasteries (usually Great Meteoron, Varlaam and Roussanou), Visit Trikala City (optionally), Wifi on board (free)

Exclusions: Gratuities (optional), Guide who speaks your language, Entrance fees per person at each monastery

I went on the Astro Tour and it was a great experience! We were picked up at a nearby location and dropped off at the house of the guide, who was an astronomer. He had a very nice telescope ready for us to use and he showed us a lot of wonderful things that you can't see with the naked eye. The owner of Hello Thessaloniki, Solon, was there with us the whole time. He was really nice and very accommodating! He also gave us a lot of recommendations on where to go and what to do in the mainland of Greece. He seemed to be very knowledgeable about the area and all the wonderful things there is to see there. If I ever come back to the mainland of Greece, I know for sure who to call! Thanks Solon for the great experience! :)

This service is AMAZING!!! He contacted me in the UK same day I booked the pick up service. My wife and I were picked from the airport by Konstatinos, who arrived very early and patiently waited for us, with our names clearly visible in his hands. Konstatinos is very polite and respectful, making sure to help with and sort our luggages, and ensuring he opened our doors for us and shutting the doors after my wife and I. The drive to our hotel from the airport was very smooth and interesting because Konstatinos told us about Greece, while explaining the various attractions and points of interests. Konstatinos also picked my wife and I from our hotel in Lithohoro to Thessaloniki for our visits to the various attractions, telling us which attractions are the best. On our return to our hotel Konstatinos took us to a fantastic grocery shop that had everything we needed so that we can get some essential supplies; he waited so patiently for us while we shopped, never complaining or unhappy about the extra time incurred by him. At the end of our holiday, Konstatinos arrived very early to take us to the Thessaloniki airport, ensuring we got there on time as instructed. Konstatinos is an amazing driver, very friendly and intelligent, he understands and speaks English excellently. He is very polite and such a gentleman always ensuring he opens our doors for us and shutting the doors after my wife and I. He made our comfort and enjoyment a point of duty, reassuring us that we can contact him anytime as needed. Thank you very much for everything KONSTATINOS!!! Konstatinos and the service provided are simply AMAZING!!!
