Absolutely beautiful beach!! Gentle waves, beautiful sand, crystal clear water. A few small massage huts and little restaurants on the beach, but it's so quiet, so tranquil, so peaceful. Shade in the afternoon great for kids. Little village at the end of the beach has a few local restaurants, mini marts, laundry, a few souvenir shops. Very stunning, quiet and relaxed part of the world, it's so beautiful!

This is a great beach if you like a nice walk on clean sand with the option of dipping in and out of the beautiful clear sea every so often. There are plenty of restaurants dotted about for refreshments if needed.

Khao Kheow Open Zoo, for over 32 years, has been a cherished resource located in Chonburi Province .The zoo encompasses over 2,000 acres of the Khao Kheow-Khao Chom Puo Wildlife Sanctuary. The zoo grounds are divided into animal habitats (400 acres), public recreational areas (200 acres) and research area (1,400 acres) which is used for the breeding of various endangered species. It is the first zoo in Thailand to become a member of WAZA .
The best zoo in Thailand ! Good conditions and space, animals seem happy ! Please visit to support animals, they need food !

Fantastic warm, clean water, one small cafe on beach, take tuk tuk instead long boat ( tuk tuk from Karon Beach to Freedom costs 400 baht, and long boat from Patong charge 1000 baht, although trip is very short. If you arrive by car/tuk tuk/motorbike, you have to walk down/up the stairs - some good, some broken, but manageable - average fitness required, down takes 20 minutes to walk, up - 25-30 mins to walk. Clean beach. Jewel in the midst of civilization. Definitely recommended!!!

Quite empty beautiful beach. Great place to see planes landing right over your head. Many people come there just for that. Quite an attraction.

What a fantastic place to spend a full day or half day, once picked up from your hotel it’s a 25 minute shuttle bus then a 15 minute boat ride across. Once there you can relax on the beach and soak in the sun or enjoy one of the many water sports on offer. We as a family of 4 enjoyed the thrill of parasailing, the crew was professional, pleasant and amusing. The only down side to it was that you can’t take your own pictures as a photographer is on board taking them which you can buy later. I must admit that the price for around 400 photos taken was quite responsible. On the half day excursion a light lunch is provided which consisted of fried rice, mini chicken drumsticks and a Thai chicken soup. Definitely go, it truly is a beautiful place to visit.

Phra Nang cave beach, is breathtaking! Depending on your route, you can go to railay beach west and walk through to railay beach east, and on through the caves to Phra Nang, the journey to Phra Nang is absolutely beautiful, you will likely see some wildlife along the way and there is even a slight rock climb (rope assisted) up to a viewpoint, unfortunately I didn't get to the viewpoint, but imagine its unbelievable once you get to the top. There are shops in the little resort style town on the way through where you can grab cold beverages of any sort, and snacks, and enjoy them along your walk. You will suddenly come out of the half caved walkway into pure paradise, several hundred metre tall karst formations with vegetation and birds flying to and from their nests, there is a decent size section if water ropes off for swimmers where there is no boat access for when the 40°C heat becomes too much and your forced to enter the tropical, fish filled waters. This beach I would recommend before all others at least to see once!

We found ourselves locked down for six months in Thailand staying in Jomtien and maybe not in love with the beach and water in Jomtien, friends suggested we give the Navy Beach or Sai Kaew a try. With a rented car, it was no problem at all and while a few hoops to go thru, it was fun and interesting and to see such nice well kept grounds. And the beach itself and the water were more than wonderful. It was so good we made the trip perhaps 30 plus times. The small restaurants had great food choices and more than fair prices. The whole fish at 400 baht was so good, I looked forward to that every time we went. I do not understand some of the negative whining comments some of made of this beach. They must feel very entitled. I can see it might be a chore if taking public transport, but it would not be the end of the world. I felt it was all of great value and that is why we kept repeating the experience so many times. When Covid is brought to heel, and tourism returns in a normal manner I cannot wait to return to Sai Kaew. At all times, we were treated with great respect by all the various Thai personnel involved in the various stations you must go thru from fee paying to chair rental. The beach and water were so nice, it gave great comfort to be able to enjoy this. Thanks so much to all involved. Jim at Maplelag in a very cold day here at minus 18 F below zero.
