Kemah Boardwalk

A 40-acre waterfront area with rides and entertainment for the whole family.

The Kemah Boardwalk has lots of restaurants and theme park rides to see and do. We went during Thanksgiving break on a Monday. The weather was cloudy, and there wasn't the normal crowds. We actually enjoyed and appreciated that. Parking was free at this time. The Christmas decorations were already up. The Aquarium is nice to see even if you do not eat. We have eaten at the Flying Dutchman many years ago. There is a hotel - Boardwalk Inn - that you can stay in. My wife loves the Kemah Boardwalk. Glad we could enjoy it.

Schlitterbahn Galveston Island Waterpark

Reviewed By SRW_TX - Richardson, United States

My family spent several hours last week at Schlitterbahn and there is really something for everyone. They have open and enclosed water slides, a surf area, lazy river, white water river, lounging pool with inner tubes, extreme water slides, family water slides and tons of fun areas for smaller kids. If the lazy river is your thing, it goes in a loop around the park and you can stay on it for hours if you want. I really enjoyed the white water section and went on it several times. You can also bring in food and drinks and rent lockers which can save you a lot of money. The staff and life guards on the rides were very nice and helpful. My husband and 13 year old had a blast, we got there when the park opened and never had to wait long. One comment: beware if you get the cashless wrist band it's a bit of a hassle at the end of day to get money credited back if you didn't spend the entire amount. A fun day for sure!

We enjoyed miniature golf, the Ferris wheel, & the go-carts! We weren’t adventurous enough to try the Gravity ride but there was a line for it so it MUST be fun, too! The mini golf had a number of nifty holes & the cart track is neat!

It’s not cheap—$10 to park plus $35/adult over 48 inches + $20 got food/drink/ice cream....so best to arrive early and spend 4-6 hours There is plenty of chairs and tables most in the shade yet few actually close to a slide or pool to “watch the Kids”. So be prepared to walk without flip flops (water shoes are advisable but not required) The park is clean, well laid out, plenty of helpful and friendly staff and concessions that serve better than fast food quality “treats” Tots under 42 inches will be kept busy and have fun Kids under 48 inches will have plenty to do Kids over 48 inches will have a blast Arrive early , stack out a picnic table in the shade ( lockers are available but hardly needed)
