Children's Museum of Houston

Hands-on interactive exhibits in the areas of science and technology, history and culture, health and human development, and the arts.

This is a world class kids museum with something for every age between 1-100. We spent the entire day there and could have easily spent another full day. If you are a local, a membership is a must. My only complaint is that there needs to be more museum employee supervision to help those kids who don't understand the instructions for some activities or to keep in check those kids who outright just don't follow the rules. Some areas of the museum are just pure chaos when the museum is busy.

Butler Longhorn Museum

My husband and I were tired of being cooped up during COVID so I found this gem online while looking for someplace to visit that was open. We were the only ones there on this particular Saturday and so we had Michael the docent to ourselves. We learned a lot about longhorns and enjoyed seeing all of the horns on the ceiling and other things. It was a fun time and I took many pictures inside during our tour. There is a huge old oak tree right near the entrance that greets you. The museum is well done.

I took some friends who were visiting from out-of-town to the Children's Discovery Center. I was a little unsure whether it might be too old for their kids - 9mo and almost 3. It was GREAT! Even the little guy loved the toddler room - and the almost-3 loved everything! The best part is that each section can be fun for a little kiddo - and has enough interesting aspect for even a 10-12+. There are some science things that I would enjoy spending time with myself! Great fun!
