This downtown area is the heart of Nashville's nightlife and is the home to countless bars and clubs.
Due to Covid-19 most everyone was masked and practiced social distancing as much as one can in a huge draw tourist place. I loved this as compared to Beale Street in Memphis. More country music, less soul. All interactions with locals were friendly. Lots of young wannabes around. If we were young again and back in our drinking days this would have been even better.

Perched on the bluffs overlooking the Tennessee River, Bluff View Art District is widely known as Chattanooga's premier spot for quality dining and culinary delights made on site throughout the District's many kitchens, bakery and coffee roaster. Its location provides for a breathtaking destination in the heart of the city where locals and travelers alike may view equally stunning works of art, horticulture and architecture, all of which define the District's unique atmosphere.
When visiting Chattanooga, you don’t want to miss this part of town, even if you only have one day. The Hunter museum is here and worth a visit but if the weather is nice, why not spend your time walking through the acres of art on the River Walk? Although the art displayed is privately owned it is publicly displayed for all to see for free. You can also pop into a wide variety of restaurants serving up delicious fare from artisan coffee to fine dining for dinner with a view of the river and the surrounding city. If you plan to spend a night or two, the Edwin Hotel is an amazing boutique hotel which boasts a huge collection of local only arts that would make any city envious.

Downtown Nashville, encircled by I-65, I-24 and I-40, features a diverse assortment of entertainment, dining, drinking, cultural and architectural attractions. Many of Nashville's famous nightspots are found on Broadway between 1st and 5th Avenues, better known as Honky Tonk Row. Most famous of all is Tootsie's Orchid Lounge, which dates to the emergence of Music City as the home of country music. Book a room at one of the many upscale hotels...the Westin Nashville, Omni Nashville, Sheraton Grand, Union Station, Hermitage, Renaissance Nashville, JW Marriott or Holiday Inn Express. Then visit the many attractions, including the historic 1892 Ryman Auditorium that still offers big-name concerts and backstage tours, the Johnny Cash, Patsy Cline and George Jones Museums, the Country Music Hall of Fame, Tennessee State Capitol, Tennessee State Museum, Tennessee Sports Hall of Fame, Bridgestone Arena, Music City Center, Bicentennial Capitol Mall State Park, Nissan Stadium and Riverfront Park on the bank of the Cumberland River. Then take a break for lunch and dinner at one of the many restaurants, including Kayne Prime, Wildhorse Saloon, Jeff Ruby's Steakhouse, Biscuit Love, Arnold's Country Kitchen, Puckett's Grocery and Restaurant, Hard Rock Cafe, Peg Leg Porker BBQ or Ole Red. Everything is within walking distance and you'll never run out of something to see.

Located just a straight shot south from downtown Nashville, quaint downtown Franklin is the perfect sleepy Southern town. Visitors can easily spend a day browsing antique shops and boutiques and dining at one of its many ecelctic restaurants. Downtown Franklin offers an eclectic mix of antique shops, gift and book stores, art galleries and clothing boutiques. Franklin hosts several festivals each year.
The biggest things that I love about this town is that it has parking garages that do not charge a thing to park in! That is already one way I am more in favor of this town then I am of Nashville! But let's get to the serious business: populated with so many small stores and shops, this town also features a Civil War Memorial in the heart of downtown in the center roundabout! On our walk up and down the streets, we came across many historical homes that featured such great elegance and grace! There was even a shop titled, "The Shop Around The Corner". Even though children's literature was not the focus of this shop, I still would have been tickled pink to have seen Meg Ryan there! So if you want to visit a very beautiful well-maintained small town and get some shopping done without having to go to Nashville, make the short drive out to Franklin and enjoy!
