Perched on the bluffs overlooking the Tennessee River, Bluff View Art District is widely known as Chattanooga's premier spot for quality dining and culinary delights made on site throughout the District's many kitchens, bakery and coffee roaster. Its location provides for a breathtaking destination in the heart of the city where locals and travelers alike may view equally stunning works of art, horticulture and architecture, all of which define the District's unique atmosphere.
When visiting Chattanooga, you don’t want to miss this part of town, even if you only have one day. The Hunter museum is here and worth a visit but if the weather is nice, why not spend your time walking through the acres of art on the River Walk? Although the art displayed is privately owned it is publicly displayed for all to see for free. You can also pop into a wide variety of restaurants serving up delicious fare from artisan coffee to fine dining for dinner with a view of the river and the surrounding city. If you plan to spend a night or two, the Edwin Hotel is an amazing boutique hotel which boasts a huge collection of local only arts that would make any city envious.

This 19 acre park in the heart of Nashville serves as a monument to the bicentennial celebration of the State of Tennessee. This park offers plenty of opportunities to learn about the long history of Tennessee while having a great experience in a beautiful green space. More information on this park and many more can be found at the TN State Parks website.
Great place to stroll with the family. Large park allowed social distancing and included multiple historical markers teaching quite a bit about Tennessee history and its impact on the rest of the nation. Park is well positioned to serve many needs and included families walking, joggers, and people with pets. Proximity to the Farmers' Market makes it a good spot for picnic lunch especially given the scenery. If we lived in the area, this would probably be a regular stop for us.

I had no idea who Sam Davis was but knew he was in the Civil War upon reading about him so figured I would stop. There is free parking, reasonable prices for the tour, and friendly staff. There is a 15 minute movie you watch at the welcome center/museum before going on the house/grounds tour to learn about his history. The home and grounds are well preserved with most of the artifacts in the home belonging to the family. Well worth going even if you aren't a Civil War aficionado

Today we hiked the Noah Bud Ogle Nature Trail and it was very pretty. The trail was very rocky so I recommend closed toed shoes. There is a lot to visit on the trail and pretty views. We would go back again!

Located just a straight shot south from downtown Nashville, quaint downtown Franklin is the perfect sleepy Southern town. Visitors can easily spend a day browsing antique shops and boutiques and dining at one of its many ecelctic restaurants. Downtown Franklin offers an eclectic mix of antique shops, gift and book stores, art galleries and clothing boutiques. Franklin hosts several festivals each year.
The biggest things that I love about this town is that it has parking garages that do not charge a thing to park in! That is already one way I am more in favor of this town then I am of Nashville! But let's get to the serious business: populated with so many small stores and shops, this town also features a Civil War Memorial in the heart of downtown in the center roundabout! On our walk up and down the streets, we came across many historical homes that featured such great elegance and grace! There was even a shop titled, "The Shop Around The Corner". Even though children's literature was not the focus of this shop, I still would have been tickled pink to have seen Meg Ryan there! So if you want to visit a very beautiful well-maintained small town and get some shopping done without having to go to Nashville, make the short drive out to Franklin and enjoy!

We had a few things planned for our time in Memphis - unfortunately, construction forced road closures made getting around rather difficult. Added to that Mud Island being closed ruled that out SO, at the recommendation of the Visitors center off we headed to Collierville. Wow was that worth the trip. We parked at the Historic Town square and spent about 45 minutes wandering around reading the information boards and taking lots of photos. As I was walking under the pergola in the square I heard bell chiming out the tune to Winter Wonderland. It plays on the hour it seems. From here we ventured to the Morton Museum in the old Christian Church. This is chock full of the history of the town and region. Plenty of photos, memorabilia, stories etc and the staff are great. They have period outfits that you can take your picture with so even kids will enjoy this museum. I would highly recommend a visit to both the historic square AND the Morton Museum at the Church

Nestled in the foothills of the Smoky Mountains, Old Forge Distillery hand forges small-batch spirits including award-winning moonshines, cream liqueurs, gin, bourbon, vodka and its distinctive Rock & Rye line - a high proof pre-prohibition favorite. Located in the heart of the historic Old Mill Square in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, Old Forge crafts spirits using stone-ground grains from The Old Mill, one of the oldest continually operated gristmills in America. Visit Old Forge Distillery for free samples to experience a taste of Tennessee or let their bartender forge you an artisan cocktail at the distillery cocktail bar. Old Forge Distillery, located at 170 Old Mill Ave, Pigeon Forge, TN, is a proud member of the Tennessee Whiskey Trail.
What an amazing place! By far, the best moonshine in the area! Everyone was so nice, selection was awesome, and the whole place is beautiful! Chet made amazing drinks in the lounge, Bryan provided an entertaining and educational moonshine tasting experience, and Chris offered many great tastings at the Cream Rum station. I would highly recommend that you take time out if your day to visit! You won’t be disappointed!!

Anyone who has “toured” any section of the Parkway understands that this is not a singular destination — because of its unique designation as a 444 mile long US National Park — and yet there are scores of specific locations along the route that are perfect for a short daylong outings if you live fairly close to one of the access points — and of course the Nashville and Franklin areas do have popular access routes. Online maps are helpful when you’re searching for a fun trail, waterfall or other historical significant features. During the recent “Social Distance” restrictions — the Parkway became a good option for safely getting out and about. Our fave destinations within the state of Tennessee have been: Timberland Park in Franklin near the iconic bridge; Jackson Falls; Jacks Branch and enjoying the great colors in Fall and Spring. Someday we hope to take a trip all the way to Natchez Mississippi.

This section of 16th Ave. serves as the headquarters of America's country music industry.
Loved music row and all cool buildings and statues down there were neat. Lots to do and see. Lots people and lots traffic too. Enjoyed our concert while visiting.
