After liasing with the ever so patient Elina of Anur Tours over a number of emails, it is that we booked a Ziyorat Uzbekistan Tour with a focus on holy sites throughout Tashkent, Bukhara and Samarkand. In creating our itinerary, Elina was very open and accommodating to our interests and requirements and, in turn, very flexible when we provided feedback for changes etc. From the moment we were met at the international airport by our driver to the time we were dropped back off, one week later, our trip was perfectly organised. Our tour guides throughout the three cities were exceptional. Not only were they extremely knowledgable and professional but also very personable, friendly and punctual. We were intrigued by the history and religious prominence of Uzbekistan and each tour guide educated us greatly on this, answering all our questions and explaining thoroughly the background to sites of interest. Logistics and travel were completely taken care of by Anur Tours, with them providing a personal driver in each city whom would pick us up from our hotel and take us to and from attractions and sites. Travel from city to city was taken care of with all train and flight bookings handled by Anur Tours, where again drivers were arranged to meet us at airports and stations etc. I cannot emphasise how convenient this was and how safe it made us feel. The standard of all hotels and quality of restaurants recommended were fantastic. We cannot thank all the members of Anur Tour who made our trip so great and memorable. We definitely wouldn’t have had such a smooth running had we have left the planning to ourselves!

Central Asia Three stans - stretches from the Caspian Sea in the west to China in the east and from Afghanistan in the south to Russia in the north. It is also colloquially referred to as "the -stans" as the countries generally considered to be within the region all have names ending with the Persian suffix "-stan", meaning "land of". Central Asia has historically been closely tied to its nomadic peoples and the Silk Road. It has acted as a crossroads for the movement of people, goods, and ideas between Europe, Western Asia, South Asia, and East Asia. The Silk Road connected Muslim lands with the people of Europe, India, and China.

A great way to get a first impression of the city Traveling in the bus is comfortable and with the audio guide in different languages it offers a good opportunity to learn something about Tashkent. The start of the bus tour is at the famous Hotel Uzbekistan, Tashkent's first hotel, located on Amir Timur Square. The end of the tour is there again. You can get the tickets for the bus tour at the Hotel Uzbekistan. The tour stops at various places, such as the Minor Mosque or the old city district, where you have some time to watch the place and the buildings. There are also many sights you just drive by, such as the earthquake memorial. So you have the opportunity to get a first impression of the city and then visit some of the sights again with more time. Which of the sights are worth to visit with some more time depends on the interests. For me the Minor Mosque or the old city district have been worth to visit again.
