Gilberto and Max of Discovery Tours provided the day trip of a lifetime to Anzio where I followed in my father's footsteps to see where he served his country in World War 2. Discovery Tours handled all the logistics, trip planning and detailed information on the battle sites and Anzio campaign with consummate professionalism. I learned much and thanks to Gilberto and Max, have a much deeper and personal understanding of the challenges my father and all other servicemen and women faced during this critical time in history. I enthusiastically recommend Discovery Tours to enrich your travel experience in the wonderful country of Italy.

We were there for a excursion on November 14/2019 booked thru Expedia. My other review states the problems we encountered on our once in a lifetime retirement trip...this day was completely ruined for us! Expedia is really not much help, they sponser this company thru their website (Expedia ended up losing ALOT of future bookings, we went with Viator, never a problem with them so far), but do not care that it is a less than savoury company! I guess no matter what time they show up, as long as they do... they feel they did their job! Dissappointing and a fraud! We have been trying to get a proper refund amount since this "excursion"... with no luck from either company!1 We feel it should be Expedia compensating us since they are the promoter!! Just say NO to this company!!!

A lovely lady called Gulia took my husband and I on a walk round Rome sampling food and drink from various shops and a superb pasta lunch. If you are going todo this tour I advise you not to eat much beforehand as we finished the tour around 2:00pm and did not eat another thing all day. We had meats and cheese with some wine to start off with and then followed this in a picturesque market square with tasting various oils and vinegars. Roman Pizza and beer were next, followed by a delicious lunch of two different types of pasta. Then followed dessert of either cannoli or tirimisu at another stop off point, ice cream and coffee to finish. Never felt so full. Guila was full of interesting conversation about her city. All in all a great day out ending at the Trevi fountain.

We did a private wine country tour with Francesco in October 2019 (it has taken me entirely too long to write this review). We had a great time with Francesco. He is so personable and was so much fun to spend the day with. Ask him to tell you the story of why there are black roosters on Chianti Classico wine bottles. Francesco is very professional, was able to accommodate a change in plans based on our preferences, and delivered top-notch service throughout the day. If (when) we go back to Florence, we will be giving Francesco a call!

Tarquinia, cradle of the Etruscan civilization, is situated in a wonderful position near the Tyrrhenian Sea; it preserves some of an unbroken history from the Etruscan legend of Tagete to present days. Famous and powerful, Etruscan Tarquinia stood on the Civita hill. From here the birthplace of three of the seven kings of Rome: Tarquinio Prisco, Numa Pompilius and Tarquinius Superbus. After its destruction, it has developed the modern town on the opposite hill . Here the medieval Tarquinia knew new glory imprinted in majestic towers, in the sober and elegant Romanesque churches, in the sturdy walls . Minimum of passengers required for this tour 6 people. On Monday all the museums in Italy are closed for day off.

When you have done Rome several times from the cruise stop in Civittavechia try the tombs visit to Cerveteri - 3000 to 4000 years old an a Unesco heritage place to see. The best station to get off the train is Cerveteri - Ladispoli . The bus to Cerveteri old town / Necropolis goes from the station square; the old town is on a hill and quaint. On the way back to Civittavechia by train a stop at the seaside resort of Santa Marinella is worth an hour or so for a look around.

What a trip! Adam, our driver, was fabulous. Nothing was too much trouble for him. The day went according to plan and we had marvellous visits to both the extensive complex of Villa Adriana and then taken up the hill to Villa d’Este and its magnificent water gardens. Thoroughly recommend this out of Rome trip although pre-trip communication from the local provider could be improved.

We had a very enjoyable and informative all-day tour of Rome and Vatican City. Our guide, Nicola, was very knowledgeable and friendly. He arranged the schedule perfectly and gave us keen insights on each point of interest that we visited. Our driver, Claudio, expertly navigated the routes and was very friendly as well. We engaged Claudio to give us another half-day tour of Castel Gandolfo, which was superb. I strongly recommend Limousine Service in Italy for your travel needs.
