We had a great visit to the cellar door and winery tour with Jonathan. He was fantastic- knowledgeable and informative - he spent more than 2 hours with the 4 of us. Taking us through the historic property dating back to the early 1800s and vineyard with some of the regions oldest vines. We also enjoyed the wine tasting great wines in the cellar and again Jonathan provided interesting commentary and insights to the wines. We all recommend a visit to Langmeil. Well done Langmeil and thanks Jonathan.

Hill and Son Grand Organ

We have attended concerts here which are always very well supported. Hearing the magnificent organ (formerly in Adelaide Town Hall) is not to be missed. Wednesday lunchtimes there is an opportunity to take a tour, hear the organ, find out about the history and even have a go.

Langmeil Church

Reviewed By PaulS803 - Adelaide, Australia

Some people go to the Barossa Valley to visit the wineries. A few of us go to visit the churches, of which there are many. These are mostly shut during the week for security reasons, but Langmeil has an office which is open from 9 till 1, and on request we are able to go inside. We really enjoy our visit, with the large organ and stained glass windows. The church faces out onto a large cemetery. One of the graves tells of German pastor Kavel who brought his whole congregation out to the Valley. Parking and access are easy.

Called in here looking for a bottle of white port and found 2 very nice ports. One was a Tawny port and one was a port fronti which is a very pale port which is called white port. Even the wife like this one and she’s not a port drinker, she liked it that much she treated me to 2 bottles of it. The lady serving us couldn’t be more helpful and explained everything we were trying. Outside the views are brilliant but you do have to climb a steep slope to get the best view.

Town Walk of Tanunda

We followed the brochure for our self guided walk to look at the beautiful old buildings in Tanunda. It was lovely walking in the sun on a cold morning and we were very impressed with the history plaques dotted along the route. It helped us learn more about Tanunda.
