Feddan Park Tetouan

Just outside the Medina but only just, with Bab Tut gate a two minute walk away. Views can be obtained of the White Dove by just casually sitting on the bench and looking up at the continuous white buildings with the mountain as a gorgeous back drop. The park is not a green park itslef, but a complete pedestrian zone that encounters mainly locals enjoying social time. Not too sure of its construction but it seems fairly new and gladly not ultra modern with plenty of arabic design evident to see. Such as mosaic tiling on the benches and floor, also situated in the middle is a white sheltered arch that has a a definition but not in English, and palm trees that cover the radius of the park. Came here in the day and felt completely safe. Hardly any tourists here which is definitely the case of missing Tetouan's hidden gem..

Lixus

Our month long road trip around Morocco was cut short when the car broke down 50 miles in. Fortunately that gave us time to thoroughly get to know this fascinating fishing port come seaside town. Having a large dog with us restricted our exploration to walking distance, as he wasn't welcome on public transport, but there was plenty of friends to make and time to chill. Lixus ancient remains stunning location and site. We were the only visitors there all day. Pelegrosa beach fantastic, but very dangerous, slightly busier. Shame about the seaborne plastic waste amongst the sand dunes. Rowing boat across the harbour Fish market and nearby restaurants provided us with some of the tastiest and best value meals ever. We tried virtually every eatery in town and weren't disappointed in any.

We went Asilah after a local friend suggested and this place was worth visiting. Quiet, peaceful, beautiful houses and the art was breathtaking. Located right next to Asilah beach, just makes you feel calm. It was a perfect combination of tradition and art, in every street or house and its so simple and elegant which makes it special.

Moise Nahon Synagogue

Reviewed By AaronsAbira

well, our family loved visiting the Moshe Nahon Tangier's Synagogue located on a dead end street in the Beni Idir Medina Quarter, according to our guide, it was constructed in the 19th century by Moïse Nahon, a prominent scholar from a Jewish family in Tangier. The synagogue ceased activity in the second half to the 20th century, and thereafter fell into disrepair until its reconquest in 1994. The prayer room of the synagogue is accessible via a small courtyard at the final of the inlet hallway. The interior is elaborately graced in an Andalusian modality. inscribe stucco walls are adored with a cyclic motif featuring frilly implant columns, trilobe hoop, and arabesques with floral and geometric peg. possibly most elegant is the Arabic calligraphy refined in three medallions vertically range below the superior ear-lap.

Spanish Mosque

Reviewed By MaryB813 - Dallas, United States

It was an easy hike up the mountain to the Spanish mosque which rewarded us with a magnificent panoramic view of Chefchaouen. We hiked up the back way from the car park area via a goat path near the cemetery. We hiked down a path that had steps that seemed like the more public way to go to and from. Frankly the hike up was more enjoyable. Spectacular view!
