I came to chennai on work and was alone on a weekend. So decided to book a day trip to Pondicherry through Five senses tours as their reviews were very good. It was a lovely day and the tour company was both professional and friendly. Our gudie balaji was very informative as he was born and brought up there. He also ensured we got a very good feel for the French heritage. He took us to magnificent churches and also took us on a architecture walk along the French quarters. I enjoyed Auroville the most. The tranquility at the dome was absolute. All arrangements by Five senses tours were impeccable. They send a clean and air-conditioned car. The driver was safe and courteous. Out guide Balaji was there to pick us in morning and was with us till the drop back at night . He had also organised simple and delicious lunch. It was a fully paid tour so no hassles and Five senses organised everything so I could just seep in the beauty of Pondicherry!

Sunrise tour in Top Station , Munnar ( 4 - 5Hr) Guest Review: He picked us up at 4:30 am in the pitch black and bundled us together with another couple into the back of a tiny Jeep. We were driving into the middle of nowhere in the dead of night, along small bumpy roads, with barely enough space to move, and a canopy dropped over the sides so we couldn’t see outside. It felt like we were taking part in an illegal smuggling operation. After 50 minutes we reached our starting point just as the sun was beginning to shed light on the dark sky. Once we reached the summit, we enjoyed a delicious meal among the changing clouds and mist. An hour later, bellies full and feeling well rested we started our descent. On the final stretch, we walked through a few tea plantations.

If you are one of those westerners that has become addicted to the many walking tours in Europe, like we have, then you should love this. We started early in the morning, 05:40, with our brilliant guide Leena. She walked us through the residential areas to experience daily Indian traditions, then, through the markets. Leena very politely asked if we wanted to sample some local food and beverages along the route, which we definitely did, so the tour becomes a foody tour if you want it too. We finished by experiencing a local breakfast with Leena. This is not a historical trip round the city, this is more personal and gives a special insight in to the everyday lives of local people. The tour we’ve most enjoyed in all 3 of our trips to India as you won’t find it in any guide book.

I have been a lover of Indian food for 50 years and, on my first trip to India, my children gave me a private market-and-cooking-and-eating excursion with Priya as a birthday present. It was perfect. Priya was right on time and, after a visit to buy vegetables at a nearby famers market, we "went home to cook." I ground some masalas, made coconut chutney on a traditional stone grinder, made my own dosas, etc. It was a fantastic experience. Priya knows how to teach beginners, but she was also wonderful at adapting to my higher level of knowledge. One of my best memories of India!

This walk will demystify Hindu Gods & Temple rituals. From far, the thousands of Hindu Gods and complex rituals in temples look bewildering! Our Cultural Evangelist will demystify the reason for so many Gods and purpose of Temple rituals. Relics of St Thomas are a highlight. Visit the Shrine in San Thome Basilica to see relics like a small bone of St Thomas, the head of the lance with which the Saint was pierced and an ancient painting of Our Blessed Mother. This walking tour is led by a cultural evangelist who will bring alive the cultural heritage of Mylapore. The walk coms with an opportunity to taste the iconic Filter Coffee of Mylapore.

This walk starts at the light House on Marina and then proceeds to the main beach. It's a lovely heritage walk. Kannan is an amazing guide and he told us so much about the history and culture of Chennai. We visited a beautiful Temple and kannan told us all about the rituals and customs. This is a great way to discover the real India. I would strongly recommend.
