This waterfall is considered one of the tallest in the world with more than 980 feet of water cascading over volcanic cliffs into a pool below.
Like this stop on our private tour. A short hike up the trail leads you to probably the nicest falls in French Polynesia. Easy access. Great spot for some photos. Parking available and some fresh fruit vendors. Very high falls are very beautiful. Humid here in the summer.

I love to go there when my soul is bad and need to get good vibrations. You can stay near the pond and watch the fishes or sit and put your barefoot in the water , listening to the birds, smelling the fragrance of the tropical flowers.

Get away from the shops and streets and enjoy a relaxing walk through this park. A lot of effort has been put into this area to make it lovely and great place to walk, view the harbour, stop and have a meal or drink or both and enjoy the activities going on around you.

This grotto features a lake of black water that creates an optical illusion - the cave appears much smaller than it actually is.
We stopped off the side of the road for a fresh coconut here. We visited the grotto to watch the locals diving in. It was so very beautiful. Make sure you don't litter and bring cash for the gift shop. The chickens own the place so they're happy with any crumbs you feed them. I highly recommend this little rest stop. So completely peaceful.

Located on the tip of a scenic peninsula surrounded with black-sand beaches, this area is the historic landing site of many famous explorers such as Captain Cook and Captain William Bligh.
This is a lovely part of the island to visit. The lighthouse built in 1867 is still in excellent condition. The sea is full of fish close to the waters edge including Stingrays. This area is very popular with locals fishing and swimming, the beach is quite big. Well worth a visit when visiting Tahiti.

We stopped by on our way back from the waterfalls. The splash and roar from the blowhole was very exciting. We walked down a step to an observation area (partially blocked by tape, plus mangled stone and a torn up metal railing). As we stood there to watch the waves, my husband said, “Wow, that’s a big one!” just as the wave hit the rocks and totally drenched the family, including my 74-year-old mother. She declared it the most fun she had in all of Tahiti, and we haven’t stopped laughing about it yet. There’s a nice bathroom in the parking lot as well as freshwater showers. It’s a great vantage point to watch surfers and boogie boarders.
