Things to do in Sydney, New South Wales: The Best Game & Entertainment Centers

June 15, 2021 Brain Ambrose

Sydney offers plenty of historical and contemporary Australian flavor. The marvelous Sydney Opera House looks like a great origami sailboat, floating peacefully in a harbor. Wander the narrow cobblestone streets of The Rocks and then take in a street performance on the Circular Quay before heading into the Museum of Contemporary Art. The views from the Sydney Tower Eye observatory are epic – use this chance to get to know the layout of the city from high above.

Lots of laughs with friends playing through the Cosmos adventure. The problem solving was decently challenging, and the experience very immersive - though a little bit short for the group of us. This was fine though, the attendee let us play through a shooter game in the foyer for the remainder of our booked session. Also, the complementary tea and coffee was a really nice touch.

Virtual Room: Virtual Reality Sydney

Virtual Room is an award-winning team VR experience (with no motion sickness!). Blending the escape room concept with a full 3D cinematic experience to deliver a unique, immersive & mind-blowing adventure lasting ~40-50 mins. Played in groups of 2, 3 or 4 players where each player has their own dedicated room - you will join each other in the virtual world where you can talk to each other, walk around, bend, throw objects and collaborate to solve the mission. With 3 missions to choose from, you and your team of 2-4 players will travel back to historical periods of time such as ancient Egypt and the moon landing to solve the challenges and save the world! In our latest mission, you even get to BE the zombies and fight for your survival! Guaranteed no motion sickness unlike inferior VR experiences (e.g. ones where you are sitting down or using poor quality VR headsets). Fun for all ages (no gore or horror) - friends, families (ages 10+), birthday parties, kids’ parties, hens/bucks night

We took our team of nine along to the virtual room. It was so much fun and mind blowingly cool. Once you've been set up, and the first virtual room appears, I can tell you that I felt as though I was actually in a futuristic spaceship with views out to all the out lying futuristic cities. The challenges are incredibly fun and great for team morale, as you need to help each other to achieve the goals and move to the next level. I can't wait to go back and do the next challenge! Even the gloves are rigged to give you sensory pressure and vibrations. Highly recommended.

Darling Quarter

If you are looking for somewhere to let the kids run around and stretch their legs, while you enjoy a coffee or ice cream and soak up the sun this is the perfect place. The Darling Quarter has a great park for the kids. There is a slide, flying fox, climbing ropes etc. Also a great water park for kids to pump water along canals, while opening and closing mini gates, turning water wheels etc. It can get busy, so make sure you don't let little ones out of sight, and bring sun screen and a hat if you are there between 10am-4pm. The surroundings are dotted by lots of takeaway food outlets, or for those that want to sit down there are also many dine in options - e.g., asian, cafes, pub style food, italian. Or pack your own picnic and find a shady area to sit and enjoy.

We had an incredible night with Shann she was fabulous. Highly recommend this place. We came in for the escape room and stayed because of the fantastic service she provided. We will back in a few days for a karaoke night because she made us want to come back. The escape room was a blast, there is tons of interactive parts of the room for everyone to enjoy.

Kingpin Bowling

Reviewed By Jumbo666

Kingpin has it all - the Bowling, the laser tag (need a group), the arcade games, and Virtual Reality. The staff are exemplary - with a special shout out to Tanguy (I presume from France) who is a superstar with the kids. Food is good (better than one would expect from a bowling alley) and service great. Recommended.
