This beautiful medieval castle overlooking the city has been recently restored.
This is a really beautiful medieval castle which was built in the 13th century. Loved the long stretch of walls lining the rocky hill as well as the views of the township and other castles around it. Great views.

As every year, in the summer every Saturday afternoon, there is a concert with this old organ. The organ is in the minor basilica of Valère. Each concert is different with musician coming from around the world to interpret various pieces of musics, mainly pieces that are not so common for the no connoisseurs of organ music.

We were looking for a nice place to go in Switzerland that will only be a few hours travel from Como and this popped up in our search. It only took us almost 2.5 hour to reach the Castle and it did not dissapoint. IThe place was beautiful and it has a perfect view of the other castles surrounding it.

Belinzona, a little town in Tessin has three nice castles,, wonderful illuminated in the evening it looks as a lighting fairytale, illuminated of every angle, so nice in the dark night. If you visit Bellinzona dont' miss to visit with a lift, the castelli.

Kaspar Stockalper was an early capitalist genius. He simply sold and bought everything that promised to be profitable on those days. His impressive palace in Brig is a testimony to his wealth and worldly power. The building is the biggest private building of the 17th century in Switzerland. Visit this representative castle and learn about the symbolism and the history of that place. The adjoining gardens as well as the exhibition "Passage Simplon" are worth a visit too. Opening Hours and Guided Tours Summer 1 May - 31 October 2016 Tuesday - Sunday 9.30 am / 10.30 am / 1.30 pm / 2.30 pm / 3.30 pm / 4.30 pm* * May and October: no tours at 4.30 pm
We engaged a private guide during the visit - was fantastic and very informative tour from historical and architecture perspectives. Must see place in Brig!

This hilltop castle is imposing in its own right but the highlight of climbing up to see it is the views back to the Church-Fortress of Valere, directly opposite. Allow about an hour to explore both. They are a 20 min walk from the station in Sion. We explored the church first (an easier climb) and then went up to the chateau. Rate this pair as up there with Chateau Chillon for wow factor.
