Between the West Branch River and Route 108 is a biking trail full of scenic vistas and small town atmosphere.
Rent some good bikes and do it. Did it with family, youngest is 10. No probkem at all as the entire path is pretty much flat and paved so it is really easy to ride. Beautiful scenery all the way through, and some really magical spots to stop and admire the area.

Wonderful trail up to the fire tower, narrow and steep trails, like walking in a fairytale forest, expecting hobbits to come out of the trees at any time. So beautiful. Walked the trail with my husband on a Wednesday morning, never saw anyone else. We had the entire forest to ourselves - what luxury! The stillness and the beauty was marvellous. Absolutely recommend this trail. I’d also recommend using proper hiking gear, as there are climbs requiring some good footwear.

We were early arrivals to the tiny parking lot at the trailhead. The walk starts gently through a dense marshy meadow, then gradually ascends through forest. About 2/3 of the way to the top it becomes quite steep; the average grade is close to 20% (1500 feet in 1.5 miles). Once at the top you are rewarded with a spectacular panoramic view of the entire valley. Well worth the 2.5 hours round trip. It was a dog party at the top by the time we left; it seems everyone wanted to take their pup up to the top.

Smooth and gentle runs make this Stowe area mountain ideal for children and first-time skiers.
Could use a few more shops and restaurants on property but overall just a perfect hotel. Rooms are really REALLY pretty. The outdoor ice skating rink was magical. Very organized for a large hotel.

This narrow path through thousand-foot cliffs, once a smuggling route into Canada, is now a park used for biking, hiking, picnicking and rockclimbing.
We stayed a night in Stowe during the peak color season and this drive was recommended to us. We are so glad we did it. It was gorgeous! We had limited time so we were very disappointed we didn't get to experience more of this area. We made it to Smugglers Notch though and captured some beautiful shots. The road is very winding up there. It was super windy and we watched the leaves getting blown off the trees. We definitey recommend this scenic drive.
