Lovely park, dam, woods and boating lake. We visit Ethrow park quite frequently and always enjoy it. The wooded area surrounds a central lake so it’s easy to stick to a route without getting lost! Along the boating lake is a quiet path that usually has people fishing and the ducks and geese wander along the path which is nice, the path leads to the dam which is always nice to see. A cafe and little ice cream parlour are situated near the car park for refreshments. It’s a lovely park for walking and we usually find new parts to explore that we haven’t seen before. Highly recommend

I have paid for a memorial bench for both my parents in the adjacent Vernon park by the bandstand. We like to walk through Woodbank Park and the onto Vernon Park to visit the bench. Daughters & Grandchildren also visit often and long may it continue !!!! The children also enjoy a play on Woodbank Park play ground !!

A lovely spot for a morning or afternoon out, so peaceful yet so near the centre of Stockport and Reddish. Lots of bird-life on the reservoirs. It's an easy hour's stroll from the end of Stockport precinct, a bit less if you start near Tesco Extra in Portwood, don't miss the spectacular Harrison's Weir. Even if it's raining most of the walk from town is under trees. Small cafe and visitor centre run by volunteers, and a more extensive tea-room on the road up to Reddish. You can walk from Stockport then get a bus back every few minutes from the main road at the top of the hill or vice-versa.

If you live in the Davenport area, then you will be familiar with this little gem of a park. A dog walkers delight and a child friendly play area, close to shops and parking. Activities in the summer and a quiet place to picnic. Free entertainment does not get any better.

Hidden away with parking difficult but well worth a visit. It has lovely grounds and nice water. In the summer there are lots of acitivities but you can walk round and enjoy the environment even in winter. Well worth a visit.
