Things to do in Stellenbosch, Western Cape: The Best Spas & Wellness

February 8, 2022 Weston Hennigan

Hiking trails and art galleries abound in Stellenbosch, but it's wine that takes center stage. More than 100 wine cellars, most open to the public, surround the oak-lined South African town, and tasting tours operate daily. Winter brings a four-day festival celebrating the local vintages. The historic town center houses the trading-post style shop Oom Samie se Winkel, the Neo-Gothic Moederkerk church, and museums dedicated to toys, military memorabilia, autos and early life on the Cape.

As a frequent spa visitor with my fiance, Samantha and Hailee provided us with something most other major spa's couldn't - a satisfying experience. I've always struggled to find a place that applied just the right pressure, but True Oasis and the lovely ladies mentioned above managed to thoroughly tackle years of bad posture and stress with incredible effort. The quant spa is peaceful, tranqual and a "true oasis". The staff were incredibly friendly and professional. They took every care to workout myself and my partners knots, aches and pains. Twisting our joints and angling our arms and legs to fully release tension. Both Samantha and Hailee managed their time well and didn't stay too long on a single body part. They understood the relationship between tension and pressure, providing an incredibly holistic experience that resulted in what now is my favorite spa to visit. If you plan to go, don't think twice, just do it. It's well worth it.

The Spa @ Clos Malverne

Reviewed By alancA9323WG - Cape Town, South Africa

Ok so having never ever had a Spa Swedish massage , or any other type, I was encouraged to join my wife at the Spa on her birthday during our stay at Clos Malverne. Being a typical guy I always though Spas were for women or male weirdos - was I so wrong ! We were welcomed and shown the facility which being my first was absolutely relaxing - from the lighting to the music it was the perfect environment ! Not knowing how things work the therapist explained what was required as I climbed nervously on the table only to find it was heated and soft. Lying face down she got to work and it was difficult to tell which part of her hands or arms was actively eliminating all stress from my aging muscles - in fact at one point it felt like an electric impulse soothing yet healing. An hour passed in a few minutes and afterwards we awoke to a glass of wine and a steam room awaiting us. All round it was an excellent experience - would I do it again yes at Clos Malverne!
