At Rio's twin city of Niterói, on the other side of Guanabara Bay, you'll find our most important and busiest fish market: "Mercado São Pedro", responsible for 80% of all fresh fish consumed in Rio's metropolitan area. "Cariocas" and the most acclaimed Rio's chefs come here every morning shopping for the best "catch of day"! On the ground floor, in nearly fourty booths, fishermen sell their production; on the second floor, eight restaurants prepare famous recipes. And you can also buy your own fish and have it prepared - specially for you - at one the restaurants upstairs (at an agreed fee). Just amazing and delicious. Enjoy!
