Ramsey Island and Grassholm Island National Nature Reserves are owned and managed by conservation charity the Royal Society for the Protection of Birds (rspb). Ramsey's cliffs are perfect for breeding seabirds in spring and summer. Choughs, peregrines and ravens also nest on the sea cliffs and in the island's sea-caves. From May to Sept, bluebells, pink thrift and spring squill carpet the island followed by heather in late summer. In the Autumn grey seals breed and they can be seen on the beaches with their white-coated pups from mid August until October. Spectacular Grassholm Island supports 36,000 pairs of breeding gannets and is the only gannet colony in Wales. The island is a sanctuary reserve with a strict 'no-landing policy, but boat trips circumnavigate the island during the summer months.

Absolutely stunning views from the car park (which is free). We walked along one of the paths that led us down to a secluded beach. Was hidden from the wind and a beautiful hidden spot. I wouldn’t recommend for people who have trouble walking or prams etc.

Our beautiful farm, nestled just 1 mile from St Davids, is home to 'The Bug Farm', a unique attraction that is suitable for adults and families alike. We are also a scientific research centre & working farm. Enjoy visiting our indoor Tropical Bug Zoo, British Bug House, Bug Farm Trails, Bug Museum, Walled Garden, Art Gallery, Insect Farming Exhibition, Bug Barn and Gift Shop. We are also proud to be the home of Grub Kitchen - hailed as the UK's first edible insect restaurant/cafe. Grub Kitchen serves lunch from 12 noon - 2:30pm in term-time and 12 noon - 3:30pm in school holidays with drinks and cakes serves all day. Grub Kitchen is open whenever The Bug Farm is open. On the menu, you will find Andy's signature insect-based dishes plus a huge variety of non-insect food. ***NEW - Please book your online entrance ticket in advance of your visit on our website and read our 'How to visit us guidelines'***
We had an incredible visit to the bug farm today. We met lovely staff who are really knowledgeable about bugs and keen to chat and show us things. Our son (age 8) was delighted to be shown a tarantula, golden orb spider and a scorpion and have all his many questions about leaf cutter ants answered. We were inspired by the wildflower meadow trails. We thought we would pop in for a short visit and ended up being there all day. They have planned to keep covid secure really well and communicate clearly what you should do without spoiling the enjoyment of the place. We thoroughly recommend it and will certainly go back again.

Wonderful sandy beach extends a long way - great surfing and windsurfing - good facilities and excellent guards on duty - nice areas for picnicing and castle building

This is a proper nursery - it is over-flowing with plants. They all look in superb condition and are well labelled. The prices are very fair and there are plenty of unusual plants and a breath of fresh air from the highly commercialised, trinket-heavy garden centres which stock all the same stuff. If there is a downside is that if you go in for 2 plants you will come out with eight (I did!!!). The owner is a real expert and loves his alpines and other plants. Best nursery I have visited for a long time.
