At Spirit Reins we embody an old fashioned country charm and welcome all guests to come share in our peaceful lifestyle. We offer horseback riding lessons as well as trail and beach rides. We invite you to embark on a quiet outdoor adventure that will build memories that last a life time!
We had a great riding experience! Our 11 year old daughter loves horses and she had a lot of fun; Karen and Bill, the owners, are very experienced and make you feel like family. The riding adventure we did was to Ward's Falls and it was spectacular; even better riding on those beautiful Horses. The horses were a pleasure to ride and well mannered. Thank you Karen and Bill for the riding tips and the history you shared with us on this ride; your knowledge of the area added a special touch to our experience. Looking forward to other riding adventures and will be back! The Parrsboro area is very beautiful sitting for riding adventures; a lot to explore. Enjoy the horses, the ride, the scenery, the history and the stories Karen and Bill will share of the area as you ride. We highly recommend "Spirit Reins Ranch" for your riding adventures.

I could never say enough great things about my trip with Fundy Tidal Bore Adventures! I was traveling with my less adventurous husband and too-little daughter so I woke up early, took the rental car, and drove from Halifax to ride the tide alone. The drive from Halifax was easy and took less than an hour. Check in was quick and the woman signing everyone in was super friendly and informative. I was quickly outfitted with a life vest (rain coats are available but the weather was nice so I opted out. You are going to get soaked either way!) and enjoyed relaxing in the yard while we waited for the tide to start coming in. I struck up conversations with other friendly travelers so even though I was "alone" I felt welcomed and fully connected to the experience. When it was time to go I jumped into Capt Derricks boat and enjoyed an informative and leisurely ride downstream as we made our way towards the ocean to meet the incoming tide. Derrick talked about the history, geology, and ecology of the surrounding area. We spotted many bald eagles and the scenery was breath taking. In a way, it felt like a spiritual experience being out on the water in such a beautiful place. We stopped to enjoy some optional mud sliding (do it, trust me!) before we finally pulled over to watch the tide approaching from the ocean. Standing on the mud flat watching the "tidal wave" come rolling in was pure magic. The whole experience felt surreal. Once the tide got close enough, Derrick had us jump into the zodiac boat and we were off to play in the waves. Riding the tide was the perfect balance of exhilarating, fun, and safe. Derrick always had our well being in mind and made the trip unforgettable. I opted to purchase the go pro video and it was the perfect way to commemorate my trip. Trust me, you'll be holding on for dear life, so the likelihood of you being able to document the experience yourself is slim! My one and only regret was only purchasing the 2 hour tour instead of the 4 hour tour. I 100% plan on coming back with my daughter when she's a bit older. If you are into nature and adventure make riding the tides a priority while you are in the area. You are going to love it!

The Cougar Dome is by far one of the greatest aspects of Truro. It is a year round indoor tennis court, running track, soccer pitch with golf lessons, tennis lessons for all levels taught by some of the best instructors in the world. You will absolutely love it.

We were a family of 11 and chose the private tour option. We had 7 adults and 4 children ages 6-11. From the minute we booked the customer service of was excellent. We were emailed everything we needed to know to be prepared for the day, covering gravol, warm clothing, food and water. Thankfully we had a cast over day with a little light rain which was perfect being our on the open water. Boat tour started in the harbour where we had a beautiful view of historic Lunenburg and Captain Bill gave us some history of the town, boats and buildings, while his daughter Emily drove the boat. Both were amazing at answering our questions and interacting with the kids. They let our 6 daughter be Captain for the afternoon and she was thrilled to sit in the Captain seat and call orders to stop the boat for Fishing. On the tour we saw some really neat caves, followed by our first fishing lesson. My 6 year old was thrilled to catch 4 fish in the first few minuets of dropping the line. We then moved to a few other locations where we caught more. My son age 11 was so excited to catch the biggest fish of the day. We had a mix of cod, mackerel, and other kinds of fish which were too small to keep. Some in the group who did not take gravol with the waves did feel sick. I would recommend everyone take it before you depart. Emily cleaned up the fish on our way back in, she was great answering the kids questions. We took the fish back and cooked it up based on their BBQ directions and the fish was delicious! This was a great experience for everyone. Thank you Captain Bill and Emily!
