Called Sørlandet, Norway's South Coast is known for its rocky coastline, its whitewashed houses and its idyllic archipelago. This warmest area in the country draws many resdents for a summer holiday. Kristiansand, the biggest city here and fifth-largest in all of Norway, has many lovely beaches, a very good zoo (Norway's most visited attraction) and a number of historic buildings. These date from the period of the city's 17th-century founding and are located in Posebyen, the old town area.

One of the best preserved Iron Age farmsteads in Scandinavia. Today a place of tranquility just below the snow-covered mountains in Åseral, the stone house-foundations, burial mounds and other monuments in Sosteli tell the story of a peaceful farm where traditional life went on while Attila ravaged Europe and the Roman Empire crumbled, 1500 years ago.

In June 2019 the day to day management of the cafe, wedding and event venues at Bjellandstrand Gard was overtaken by the Smag & Behag, a populær and highly recommended restaurant and caterer from the neighbouring town Grimstad. The new hosts Kenneth Haugeland and Francisca Witsø with their comprehensive experience have many exiting plans for the further development of the beautiful place at Tromøy. The farm is located in beautiful surroundings, close to the sea in the new Raet National Park and with a beautiful rose garden and galleri on the premises. You can sense, experience, and fantasize. A taste of summer all year long. The farm Bjellandstrand gard (farm) and the area around has a long and exciting history, dating back to the very first years when people inhabited Tromøy
