Right off the southern tip of Texas is the tropical paradise of South Padre Island. This barrier island on the Gulf of Mexico offers vacationers a sunny respite from the daily grind. Gaze at a magnificent sunset from the flats, laze on the white sandy beach or go deep sea fishing and cook your catch at Andy Bowie Park. Take a dolphin-watch tour, look for more than 300 species of birds at the South Padre Island Birding and Nature Center and dine on fresh Texas Gulf seafood.

Driftwood is a waterfront bar and water sports location. Excellent cocktails and great staff!! We have the best sunsets year round over the Laguna Madre. Fireworks on the bay Memorial Day to Labor Day every Thursday and Friday night. Also, a great spot to book a charter with the best fishing and tour guides on the Island. We provide private parties and weddings. Give us a call for reservations.

Checked this out on our last night for dinner. We didn’t do the buffet, just the bar menu. Great seating by the bay. Food was good and reasonably priced. Staff was very friendly and polite! Definitely would recommend this place!

We stumbled on this venue while walking the board walk bayside of the island. We returned at sunset and toasted the sunset and then enjoyed shrimp baskets. There was a wide selection of drinks, great service and some of the best shrimp we ate while at South Padre. Surprise-live music on a Tuesday night. Great experience.
