There’s nothing to do in Kurow so how lucky we were to find The Vintner’s Drop, a wine tasting centre featuring the very good quality wines of Ostler Caroline. Run by the very knowledgeable and charming Jim, it allows you the opportunity to taste their whole range of wines from their Pinot Gris and Riesling to their award winning Pinot Noir. Crostini platters are also available but we didn’t try them. Well worth a visit but try to arrive before 4pm...

The Mt. Beautiful Tasting Room is adjacent to the Two Rivers Cafe located in central Cheviot, and features a beautifully renovated, light and airy space that preserves historic aspects of its original structure, while incorporating indigenous materials and other elements from the Mt. Beautiful vineyard estate. A long, clean concrete slab counter runs North to South with a walkthrough gap in the middle representing the iconic “Chasm” that runs through the vineyard, separating it into Northern and Southern sections. Guests may choose to stand for a tasting at the counter, or take a seat at one of the many beautiful and locally-crafted macrocarpa or oak tables featuring wood milled from trees grown on the vineyard. Individual tastes of wine are available, but guests are encouraged to experience the breadth of Mt. Beautiful’s portfolio, which includes five estate grown varietals; Sauvignon Blanc, Pinot Gris, Chardonnay, Riesling and Pinot Noir. Reservations are not required, however, it's suggested that groups of 10 or more call in advance. Popped in here for a quick wine tasting and ended up staying an hour. My husband isn't a "wineie" so kept me company with a gorgeous coffee. Bough a bottle of the pinit and chardonnay, should have bought the rose too, it was delicious. The name does not disappoint, beautiful place and beautiful wine!

Sample from a choice of 80 premium Marlborough wines available by the glass! Enjoy a tasting, half-glass or full-glass of wine with a gourmet platter to compliment the wine tasting experience. Located in newly renovated heritage building - the Blenheim Railway Station.
A great concept for wine tasting with delicious local produce platters available. My wife and I enjoyed a small selection of the 80+ local wines available for tasting along with a gourmet meat and cheese platter. We focused upon Sauvignon Blanc until we got side tracked by a few delicious late harvest and botrytis wines. The staff was incredibly knowledgeable and supportive while assisting with a table and wine selections. We loved this place. We'll be back! :)

With a bold and intriguing interior design featuring suave red and black accents, 1789 Bistro revolutionized the gastronomy scene in Queenstown by offering locally infused seasonal cocktails, an indulgent collection of over 150 wines by the bottle and 25 by the glass as well as an incredible food menu, designed to share. A perfect space to celebrate conference success with your colleagues. Available for private events.
Went here last night with 3 others for a dinner of their delicious array of tapas plates. We were all hungry so had 6 between 4 of us which was more than enough. The lamb was delectable, also had octopus, duck, corn fritters, salmon and mezzo platter - all faultless and interesting delicious flavours. The service was spot on and the piano and singing was beautiful. Will happily return on my next visit.
