A wonderful lunch on Friday 30th October 20, we shared a main meal of Pork Scallopine , salad and chips on one plate the pork on our own plates (very accommodating) and a desert each, orange cake and sticky date pudding, each with cream and ice cream, we usually miss desert, so this was a bonus. Glass of Rose and a glass of pale ale, hard to top. Excellent service, wonderful view and excellent value for money.

A mix of locals and tourists. Located on the main street of Tanunda, La Bise showcases locally produced wines crafted from alternative varieties grown across South Australia, alongside guest wines from interstate and overseas. The small venue is perfect for a light lunch or pre-dinner drinks, but provides fantastic atmosphere on a Friday night.

Located in the historic 1912 State Bank building in the main street of Hahndorf, the Wolf Blass Gallery and Museum houses the private wine memorabilia and artifacts of Australian wine icon Wolf Blass. Also on diplay are four original paintings by iconic Australian painter, Hans Heysen. New building and architectural design has seen this space innovatively brought to life in 2018, and now incorporates a cooperage display and wine bar where you can relax and enjoy an extensive range of wines and local produce.

Alpha Box & Dice Cellar Door is a unique, boutique winery in the heart of McLaren Vale, South Australia. AB&D are attempting to create an 'Alphabet of Wine', where every wine we create reflects a different letter of the alphabet. Each wine comes with their own unique identity and personality – no two AB&D wines are alike – either in style, variety or appearance. As such, AB&D champions some lesser-known varietals of the region, offering wines that you may not have heard of, or expected to taste in McLaren Vale. For those with more ‘typical’ tastes I can see why they might not enjoy this but if you enjoy something from left field this is a must-visit on any MV tour. Extensive (free!) tasting. Some unusual wines (maybe I don’t dislike whites after-all...) and the passion and knowledge for what they were doing, as a business at the start of it’s journey, really shone through. Easy to see why this place is garnering such a cult-following. And great tunes at the cellar-door too for anyone who loves post-hardcore or 90’s indie-rock. Same spirit as a craft-brewery. Down to Earth attitude and a desire to try something different.

Welcome to The Lion. With an award winning restaurant, stylish bar, contemporary courtyard and friendly casual dining, six function rooms and live music every night of the week there's always something happening at The Lion.
I had a meal at The Lion Restaurant last night. It has been a long time since I have had such a delightful dining experience of this high caliber. We ordered sharing plates between the three of us and every dish was a masterpiece of style and taste, the duck with macadamia purée and coffee was a flavour combination at genius level. the head chef is in a class of his own. This was all presented with friendly and engaging service staff that are knowledgeable and accomodating. In short, I was made to feel like a valued customer.
