We had a great visit to the cellar door and winery tour with Jonathan. He was fantastic- knowledgeable and informative - he spent more than 2 hours with the 4 of us. Taking us through the historic property dating back to the early 1800s and vineyard with some of the regions oldest vines. We also enjoyed the wine tasting great wines in the cellar and again Jonathan provided interesting commentary and insights to the wines. We all recommend a visit to Langmeil. Well done Langmeil and thanks Jonathan.

Neither prison nor hospital, the “criminal ward” of the former Glenside Mental Hospital occupies a unique place in South Australia's history. From the rare 'Ha Ha Wall' encircling the building to its striking 1880s polychromatic brickwork, explore the breathtaking architecture and sobering history of this important site.
Day Time Tour - Informative yet casual tour. Tour guide was relaxed speaker and had many stories to tell and willing answered questions. There was plenty of opportunity to explore on ones own and to take photos.

Adelaide Oval has long been one of Australia’s most recognisable and prestigious venues and hosts cricket, football, concerts, functions and major events at the highest level. Its prominent location as the centrepiece of the Adelaide CBD’s revitalised riverbank precinct makes Adelaide Oval an outstanding destination. Known the world over as a beautiful and historic sporting venue, the Oval attracts visitors in their thousands from within South Australia, interstate and overseas. Along with sports fans, the Oval has enormous appeal to visitors with an interest in history, culture, food and wine, as well as a large contingent of business travellers.
We visited the Oval, on a weekday, it was magnificent. We sat in the stands and admired the great icon. The Don Bradman cricket exhibition is a proud reminder of our excellent sporting history and the talent and hard work that our 'Don ' strove for an achieved. It was free, and we felt very privileged. Well worth seeing.

Six of us, including SA locals, interstate and overseas friends visited The Cedars where we took a self guided tour of the Han's Heysen Studio, a walk on the property (Artists Walk) and down to the green pool, followed by joining the guided tour of the House and self guided tour of the Nora Heysen Studio. We all thoroughly enjoyed our visit and the volunteer staff and guides were helpful and informative. One of our overseas guests even commented that she enjoyed it as much as visiting Monet's House and Garden in Giverny! The garden surrounding the house was lovely with many old fashioned plants and flowers and lawned areas, and the Artist's Walk took in magnificent gum trees on the bushland property.

Excellent lunch today after a pleasant and interesting stroll through the magnificent home. Lunch menu offers many choices and prices very reasonable. The prune and Armagnac cake is scrumptious. Well done to John and his excellent staff.

Comeone suggested we take a tour of Martindale Hall during our winetasting days at Clare. What a wonderful surprise. Amazing home, decorated perfectly with period pieces and accessories. We have visited mansions in UK and USA and this one compares beautifully. Receptionist was very knowledgeable and helpful.

The house is only open for organised tours on a Sunday at 2pm so we didn't get to see inside. The gardens are lovely and nice to walk around. It's all well maintained and The Pines is a 5 minute stroll from the main street of Loxton. There's no cost to visiting the gardens.

Established in 1841, the self guided history trail around Bungaree's station complex enables visitors to explore South Australia's pioneering past through a series of signs, audioposts and displays. The history trail is available to day visitors between 10am - 4pm most days, but bookings are recommended as the property may be closed for private functions.
BEAUTIFUL BEAUTIFUL BEAUTIFUL My wife and I stayed in the Stalling Box for two nights in the beautiful Bungaree Station. The main room comprises of a queen bed, open fire and a small kitchen (which was stocked with a good range of pots, pans, utensils etc). It was a very private and quite place to chill out in. The open fire in the room was lovely and essential as the temperature outside dropped to around 0. The location was good (about 10 kms) from Clare but you need to make sure that you bring all the bits and bobs that you want as there are no shops within walking distance and none of the restaurants would deliver food to us. This was not an issue for us as we just went to the shops in the morning before our wine tastings. Bungaree Station is absolutely beautiful with lovely grounds and a myriad of animals to observe. It certainly feels like a throw back to a bygone era and has been maintained so very well. Vicki (owner) was super helpful, friendly and lovely to chat to. I'd highly recommend Bungaree Station for a couples wanting a quite relaxing get-away and for larger groups with kids. We will definitely be back but with our kids next time.
