God's Window

This is a beautiful place to visit. I have been before and wanted to return. Pick a cooler day or cooler hours of the day as it is a up hill walk to get to it. Paths and steps have been put in for an easier access. Just take your time and make it all the way to the top for the most beautiful scenes. At the bottom there are locals selling curio, they are friendly and welcoming, no pressure sales are happening here. They are very grateful for any purchases you make and they give good prices.

Top of Africa

Reviewed By 716sachink - Plainview, United States

My family of 4 did this attraction with our own private tour guide. Situated at the top on the 50th floor of the Carlton Center, one needs to take an elevator to get to the top of the tallest building in the entire African continent. The 360 degrees viewing of Johannesburg and surroundings is better appreciated from the top and one gets a better understanding of the geography of the entire region. It is important to have one’s own guide for the attraction. I would certainly very highly recommend visiting Top of Africa to any traveler visiting Johannesburg.

Carlton Centre

At fifty stories tall and four blocks long, this mixed-use urban landmark is the city’s largest commerce center.

I work in this iconic 50 floor building in Johannesburg CBD. The building is a mixture of a shopping centre, offices and the tourist attraction (50th floor, where you can see through telescope as far as Pretoria, Ekurhuleni and Soweto). The place needs to be revamped, but regardless of same it is still a place to visit when in Johannesburg.
