Land of Mermaids. Land of Orange and Lemon Groves. Land of Colors. This small city in Campania has earned a plethora of alluring names. Famed for its sea cliffs, the town's steep slopes look out over azure waters to Ischia, Capri and the Bay of Naples. The birthplace of Limoncello liqueur offers some good diving, great sea fishing, boat cruises and appetizing restaurants. Excellent hiking trails cross the peninsula. Rent a car or take a taxi if the steep streets look too intimidating.

We have been up a few volcanoes but none quite as dramatic as Mount Vesuvius , you do need some comfortable and robust footwear as the pathway to the caldera is as you can imagine loose volcanic rock and powder but after about 20/30 mins walk you do reach the top and it is stunning ! Not only looking into the caldera but the views over Naples , Sorrento peninsula and the Island of Capri. During our visit Vesuvius was smoking although we were told this does not usually happen.... so you are stood there and 40km below is the magma... makes you think right ? There are several gift shops / cafes on the way up / down so you can grab a drink etc. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit but a note of caution , initially we were going to go by ourselves but decided to book a guided tour inc Pompeii and are glad we did as you now have to pre book entry tickets online ( we thought you could pay on entry ) and trust there is no phone signal up there... so many people trying to buy online without success and also visitor numbers are restricted so if you plan to visit then arrange a few days in advance. Absolutely no hesitation in recommending a visit to Mt Vesuvius

Your driver will pick you up from your hotel in Rome and you will head off towards the beautiful Amalfi Coast for an amazing 11-hour experience. Once you reach the coast you will start a breath-taking drive; stopping here and there for amazing picture opportunities. You will have the possibility to see Sorrento from a higher point and then you will aim at Positano, where you will have some free time to explore the town. Done with Positano you will drive back towards the Mount Vesuvius area, leaving the coast behind. Right at the foot of the famous volcano, there is a marvelous place for you to have an unforgettable wine-tasting and lunch. At the end of a fabulous day you will drive back to Rome! Sit back and enjoy!

We originally planned to visit these two sites on our own but decided to go on a planned tour as you learn so much more than wandering around on your own with a map. And I've got to say Hugo ( his little joke was .. where Hugo you go ) was a absolutely spot on , his knowledge of Pompeii was amazing and his descriptions brought the place to life. He leads the group talking into a mic which is picked up on your headset so you don't need to be close to hear what is being said. I will review the 2 sites separately but suffice to say that the staff on the booking office were nice ( we booked next to the train station although they may have other offices in town) we met in the piazza tasso and off we went for a very memorable day so thank you very much Hugo ????????????????

Excellent and reliable. Being able to visit Pompeii en route to Amalfi (from Naples) was easy, convenient and very efficient. We were picked up from our hotel in Naples, left the bags in the car (with the driver) while we visited Pompeii.

Lose yourself in the magical evening atmosphere of Sorrento at Christmastime by discovering truly innovative winter fare. Sample hearty and authentic Neapolitan cuisine typically and lovingly served up in a southern Italian 'casa' over the festive season. Our picturesque town comes alive when enhanced by the myriad of Christmas lights that lend a magical quality to the cobbled streets of its historical centre. What better ambience then, to sample truly traditional fare and generous amounts of 'Christmas spirit'. No rush, no bites on-the-go, dinner is a cultural expression in Italy and we kick-back and relax over five luscious, Christmassy courses, aperitivo and a mini wine tasting. A one-of-a-kind experience, this food tour is a perfect insight into some of the delectable time-honoured festive dishes and Christmas traditions the area has to offer.

Our group of 6 friends spent 2 weeks in Sorrento in September 2019, We decided to book The Gourmet Girls on our 2nd night as we thought I would be a great introduction to the city. On booking I wondered if it was a bit pricey as I had not done one of these before and wasn't sure what to expect. It exceeded all our expectations. We were joined by an american couple and it was good to have someone else to banter with. The resuraunts we visited all went out of their way to make us feel welcome and supplied plenty of wine and food for us to try, local dishes I would never have had if I was choosing off a menu. Buffalo ragu stands out along with stuffed courgette flowers and mozzarella with lemon leaves. All beautifully presented. We were then happy to visit these restaurants on other days and were met with the same hospitality. nothing was too much trouble for the girls who chatted away happily through the night and where just as chatty when we bumped into them around town later in the week and told us another great place to eat. We had a great evening and are stll talking about it 6 months later.

Booking was easy and we received prompt replies to our queries. We missed our original flight due to a motorway closure for a serious RTA. We messaged Tony as soon as we knew we were not going to make it and although he had already set off to collect us he happily rearranged both our pick up and departure at no extra cost. He was waiting at the airport when we arrived. The journey was comfortable and interesting with all Tony's facts along the way. The same on the way back. Tony speaks perfect English so communication is easy. Overall very professional, clean and Covid aware. He also made us feel relaxed after a very bad start to the trip. Thank you Tony.
