This popular tourist attraction marks the spot where a young John F. Kennedy swam ashore when his PT boat was hit by a Japanese destroyer in 1943.
Visit this island where JFK came ashore after being sunk in PT109 in ww2. Great snorkelling nearby and "tame" parrots. A must visit if you are close by

Many uninhabited islands, and tweny inhabited, dot Marovo Lagoon, the world's largest lagoon at 140 km.
The best and most economical way to see this place is to book yourself onto Paradise Cruises 60 foot yacht. You get to go to the best places and all your transport and activities are included. Gavin and Luciana are excellent hosts and know the Solomons well. Luciana is an amazing cook too. You don't have heaps of room on the boat but you get to snorkel, fish and island visit.

We went diving at Shark Point during our recent trip to Munda. Unfortunately, there was quite a rain event happening while we were there and the visibility was not the best. We still had a fabulous dive, nevertheless seeing three white tip sharks and a large school of Barracuda. There were lots of bait fish and trevally. It was lovely seeing all the Angelfish and Butterflyfish along the wall as well as numerous anemone fish.
