Surrounded by sprawling parkland, Sofia, the capital and largest city of the Republic of Bulgaria, lies at the foot of popular ski mountain, Vitosha. With a history that stretches over seven millennia, ruin-rich Sofia is one of Europe's oldest cities. The National Historical Museum is one of Eastern Europe's most extensive. Wide, cobblestone boulevards, charming boutiques and truly electrifying nightlife star in this city of 1.3 million. Trolleys, trams and buses traverse the dynamic city.

The driver was kind and professional. The vehicle itself had an elegant and in my opinion clean interior and the seat where I was sitting was comfortable. My height is around 6′3 and I found that there was enough space for my legs. I recommend this service.

We paid 12 Lv to get a private taxi to the city. If we had know the below we would have saved a bit. There is a very efficient and cost effective way to travel from the airport to the city centre. The metro will cost 1 Lv 60 (1’60Lv). The station is located at Terminal 2. If you arrive by budget airline e it is likely to be Terminal 1. From Terminal 1 there is a free shuttle bus to Terminal 2. (Recognised as it has the T1 and T2 sign). At Terminal 2 the underground is located opposite the arrivals door with a blue M sign. The train will take you to the city centre. The stations which are central are: 1. Serdika 2. Sofia U Travel time about 20 mins. Stations are shown in Bulgarian but translated to English alphabet too for ease of navigation. The city is small and easy to work out routes and walk around.
