Our tour group stopped here on a lovely day in crush season. Winemaker Boris took time from his busy crush day to take us on a tour of this beautiful, time-honored winery. A lovely and knowledgeable granddaughter, 8th generation in this family of winemakers!, presented our lovely lunch and kept us informed of each wine we enjoyed. I highly recommend a stop here, and the delicious lunch is a wonderful bonus, if you can arrange it. I purchased 3 of the Cabernet Sauvignon wines, one to take home to Washington to one of my favorite winemakers. Cheers!

TILIA estate is a private wine cellar from Vipava valley owned by the family of Melita and Matjaž Lemut. It was founded in 1996 with youthful energy and desire to be a vinegrower, to create and live on the farm and to share wines with friends and people who appreciate a good wine. In order to communicate with end users, we have been striving to satisfy their enogastronomic need since the very beginning. Throughout the years we have become recognized for varities Pinot Gris and Pinot Noir as the most typical of the house which lead us to our slogan the HOUSE OF PINOTS!

This was a perfect winery visit. Peter, the owner, was the host, and he was friendly and informative. The wines themselves were varied and well above par for the region. Most importantly, the visitor gets his money's worth ( tastings are 25 euros per person): ones wine glass is easily refilled and the wines are served with an excellent variety of cheese and cold cuts. The ideal would be to schedule the visit around lunch -- one would leave well sated! All in all a superior experience.
