Long the home of Portugal’s monarchs, Sintra is a magnificent town of marvelous historic mansions, all set against the backdrop of lush hills. Sintra’s many castles include the Palácio Nacional de Sintra (a main abode of Portuguese royalty until the early 20th century), the hilltop and storybook Palácio da Pena, Quinta de Regaleira (incorporating several architectural styles and with gorgeous surrounding gardens), the Castelo dos Mouros (Moorish Castle), and the Palácio de Monserrate.

We just spent the most amazing day on our tour with Peter! He picked us up from our apartment and, despite the masks and noise on the highway, gave us lots of entertaining information on our drive to Sintra. The drive was beautiful and when we arrived he showed us exactly where to go, Peter left us to leisurely stroll around Sintra and collected us when we were ready. We drove back to Lisbon along the coast and thanks to Peter's recommendation had a delicious lunch. We ended with a really interesting drive around Lisbon, our necks were constantly turning 180 degrees! We learned so much about the history of Portugal and Peter made it so interesting! Cannot recommend this tour enough, thank you so much Peter, it was a great start to our honeymoon!

Amazing! Nuno took our family of four to Sintra for a half day tour. We have two young daughters and he was so patient and kind with them. He was very knowledgeable and well spoken and helped us to get the inside scoop on Belem pastries, helped us beat the cue at Pena Palace and then took us to a local village for a beautiful and delicious beach side lunch. We loved our tour and wouldn’t hesitate to book another with him if we’re back in Lisbon.

This tour mentioned that we would go to Pena palace, unfortunately the roads were closed and as an alternative, we had lots of free time to visit another palace which wasn’t too interesting or very impressive. Also, we had to pay for the entry into Sintra, which was disappointing. The tour also mentioned going to the casino, went in fact you just drive past it?! The only positives were: Sintra was lovely and the restaurant in Cascais did excellent food (which isn’t part of the tour). Overall, I would read the inclusions/exclusions before booking this tour. Very disappointing.

Expect the unexpected on this tour! Great fun, fabulous food and a some culture thrown in! If you are looking for something different, this is the tour for you! We discovered hidden gems in Lisbon - not found in the guide books. The food was great - just small plates scattered throughout the tour - you can eat as much or as little as you like. Regina was extremely knowledgeable about the history of Lisbon - really friendly and funny - a truly professional guide. She took a real interest in what we had already done and gave advice on other things we may want to do during our visit - and how to avoid the tourist traps! The only downside - time went past far too quickly! A true sign of having fun! Definitely would recommend to all!

The best 2 days of our vacation was having Joao as our personal tour guide. He exceeded all of our expectations. Joao was polite, educational, friendly, patient and above all of this spending 2 days together with Joao was like hanging out with a longtime friend. We wanted to see a cork factory and have a tour he made calls and got it set up. We wanted to have lunch in Evora he called a local place were all the locals eat and had a table reserved-and waiting for us. This meal was by far the best food we had on our vacation in Portugal! Every request we made no matter how big or small he was accommodating. I would highly recommend having Joao as a personal tour guide you will not regret the decision. We would easily give him a 10 ???? star rating. We asked him for restaurant recommendations and his recommendations were spot on every time. My husband and I plan to book more private tours with Joao on out next trip to Lisbon.
