Shan State (Burmese: ရှမ်းပြည်နယ်, pronounced [ʃáɴ pjìnɛ̀]; Shan: မိူင်းတႆး [mə́ŋ.táj]) is a state of Myanmar. Shan State borders China to the north, Laos to the east, and Thailand to the south, and five administrative divisions of Burma in the west. Largest of the 14 administrative divisions by land area, Shan State covers 155,800 km², almost a quarter of the total area of Burma. The state gets its name from the Shan people, one of several ethnic groups that inhabit the area. Shan State is largely rural, with only three cities of significant size: Lashio, Kengtung, and the capital, Taunggyi. Taunggyi is 150.7 km north east of the nation's capital Naypyitaw.

Our family has been making hand made umbrellas for over 150 years. Now in the fourth generation, we also offer other products such as lanterns, envelopes, notebooks, and other beautiful art. Come by and visit our shop. We would love to show you how we have been making them for hundreds of year. Come sit down, enjoy a cup of tea, and join our family in making your own hand-made art too.
The family running this shop is just amazing ❤️ After demonstrating to us each step of the product development, the hosting lady invited us to her kitchen, quickly prepared a huge amount of typical dish - green tea leave salad for us (we were interested about the way of cooking it). Then they invited us on tea, sweets and insisted to take with us all these food!! ???? Apparently she cooks every day for around 20-30 people just like this :) They were all so kind, friendly and authentic. Highly recommended to visit and know them. ❤️????
