The Museum's exposition presents the main sights of the cities of The Golden Ring of Russia in miniature. You can see the Trinity-Sergius Lavra, the Rostov Kremlin and other architectural objects of the cities on the models. The layouts are highly detailed, highlighted, and animated. The Museum will be interesting for both children and adults.

Museum of the Moscow theological academy. In the historical interiors of the Imperial Residence on the territory of the Trinity-Sergius Lavra, the collection is rightfully called the "Church Hermitage". Balkan and Cretan school of icon-painting, the art of the epoch of Ivan the terrible and Alexei Mikhailovich, sandals St. Sergius, the miracle-working statue of Christ made by the Italian master Romanelli, landscapes and neighborhoods the Trinity-Sergius Lavra in the works Juon, Nesterov, paintings Surikov and Vasnetsov-these are just some of the masterpieces of the collection.

The Abramtsevo Museum is near the town of Sergiev Posad (roughly 60 kilometers northeast of Moscow). The estate is along the River Vorya and was built in the mid 18th century. The writer Sergey Aksakov purchased Abramtsevo in 1843 and is said to have created his best works there, including notes on angling, hunting and autobiographical stories. Writers Nikolay Gogol and Ivan Turgenev are also said to have visited Abramtsevo.
Abramtsevo Estate Museum is at the small village area of Abramtsevo about 60 km northeast of Moscow. It can be reached from Moscows Yaroslavl station. Note there is a new train service and times. It is on the rail line from Moscow to Sergev Posad. For us it was a great adventurous day away from Moscow after a week of grand palaces and busy city activity. The Estate is famous because of its role in the Arts and Craft Movement in Russia (similar to William Morris in the UK) I read it is open from Wednesday to Sunday, but we went on Friday and found the buildings closed though the park was fully open to wander around. However the exterior of the architecture is so interesting and beautiful that we still had a wonderful time there. There is also a lovely shop in the grounds which sells very tasteful souvenirs of the estate an beautiful crafts and art. The houses/buildings represent different styles and purposes, from elegant Mansions to beautifully wooden carved traditional cottages. These were places where famous artists came, worked and rested. I loved the beautiful little ceramic church and the little Baba Yaga (witches) hut (from the cihldren's fairytale. This place has such arts and cultural history and there is plenty on the Internet to give you background information before you go. I would advise researching so you can appreciate Abramtsevo to the full. The park is beautiful and there is a lovely circular walk through open forest, along the lake and meadows.

Among the oldest buildings of Sergiyev Posad first place is won, undoubtedly, by the museum complex «Konny Dvor». Located in one of the most picturesque corners of the city, on the bank of the «White pond», it is carried to number of the major architectural monuments of Sergiyev Posad long ago. The stables were built in 1790-1791 "kvadratno on 20 sazhens" in the form of the closed caret of one-storey cases with four round towers on corners and a rectangular tower over the southern gate. Contemporaries compared appearance of the «Konny Dvor» with "monastyrky", settled down near huge fortifications of great Trinity-St. Sergius Lavra. Now expositions and funds of open storage of the Sergiyevo-Posadsky state historical art museum in which the most interesting exhibits representing history of edge and Trinity-Sergius Lavra, the Russian folk art and modern arts and crafts are placed are developed in the restored buildings of the «Konny Dvor». The «Konny Dvor» are open for visit and wait for guests.
