Its capital is Magdeburg and its largest city is Halle (Saale). Saxony-Anhalt covers an area of 20,447.7 square kilometres (7,894.9 sq mi) and has a population of 2.23 million. These is a beatifull rock formation. Well maintained walking paths on top of the mountain ridge. Its for all ages and you can choose your own lenght of the hike and difficulty i recommend starting at grossvater hotel at grosswater at grossvater weg. Next to the hotel is a large parking spot with easy access to the hike. Start on the left side next to the hotel and climb straight up!

It requires some effort to go up the tower, but it is worth it ! The view on Markt platz, the Roter Turm and Halle is amazing. If you decide to go up the Hausmanns Türme, you will also be able to discover it fascinating history as there is some English explanation. I would recommend going there if possible during the Christmas market at downfall to appreciate both the city view and then the market lights.

This bridge is just amazing and it is definitelly a must see in the area. The way from the highway is well marked and there are two parking lots close to the bridge. You will find several information panels about the bridge history, its construction and interesting points in the neighborhood. It is not only the bridge and canal what is worth to see here. Nature was definitelly affected by the construction but it recovered quickly and is beautiful here. There are plenty of pedestrians and cycling trails under the bridge and also walk along Elbe is very enjoyable. Visiting here can easily become a day trip. There is also restaurant and little hotel at this place. Unfortunately closed due to Corona currently.
