Gallery Sausalito offers a contemporary collection of imaginative fine art works with an emphasis on texture and color. Located in beautiful downtown Sausalito, California, a 5-minute walk from the Sausalito ferry and public parking. Internationally recognized artist, Sue Averell is the resident artist at the gallery. The space is also a working art studio. Visit just about any afternoon to see Sue creating her art. The gallery represents a selection of art by several exceptional artists. We ship worldwide and many of our artists will create custom pieces for your home or office. There's always something new to see at Gallery Sausalito!
I ran into this pitoresque alley where Gallery Sausalito is located as a coincident when I saw a piece of artwork outside that I just had to see more of. Inside I met Sue who explained more about her art and was very friendly and open to share her work experiences as an artist. The paintings and art pieces are amazing and I would love to be able to buy something in the future. They are colorful, full of life, and would be the centerpiece in any home. Even though I'm not that familiar with San Francisco it was easy to recognise the better pictures of its main buildings in some of Sue's paintings. I had a bus to catch otherwise I would have stayed longer. Everyone that will ever go to Sausalito - don't hesitate to drop by the gallery, you won't regret it!

We have been going there since my grandson could crawl. Now he is exploring all of the park because he is 6. Always a unique activity for all ages and abilities

The largest of six centers that rescue and rehabilitate seals and sea lions found along the California coast.
The Marine Mammal Center is a hospital for injured animals. They house and rehabilitate any number of marine mammals including sea lions and sea otters. There are several stations where visitors can learn about tagging and how biologists track animals, fishing nets and the dangers they pose to sea life, and how they care for their patients. I visited with my boisterous son on a Thursday afternoon. If you have an active child, this may not be the best place to come if there isn't a tour. It is a hospital, and they try to keep it quiet for the animals' comfort. My son was anything but quiet. We're looking forward to visiting again when a tour is happening; Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. The gift shop is also A+.

The world's largest working model of San Francisco Bay.
Full disclosure - I'm a visual artist working in photography and the Bay Model Visitor Center hosted a show of my work of the San Francisco Bay Salt Ponds in its lovely gallery. It hosts a rotating array of shows throughout the year, mostly of regional artists but occasionally including and international artist such as myself. The model itself is vast and informative. This is a great location to learn about San Francisco Bay environment, engineering and history. Admission is free and the rangers that operate the Bay model are friendly, knowledgeable and very helpful.
