What kind of beachgoer are you? Chances are, you’ll find something in the Sarasota area that appeals to you. Soft sand, fishing piers, shells—you can find it around here. Just don’t go looking for a nude beach—that’s the one thing they don’t have.

The Sailor Circus in Sarasota, Florida is known worldwide as "The Greatest 'Little' Show on Earth." Sailor Circus Academy is one of the top circus schools in the USA. More than a hundred students from Sailor Circus Academy perform for the public in full-length circus shows. You'll see circus acts on the high wire, hand balancing, flying trapeze, juggling, clowning and much more. Great family entertainment! Circus classes and lessons are available year-round for children and adults who want to get into the act!
The most interesting thing that I took from seeing the show, is that all of the performers are all high-school kids and younger. The silk performers were stunning, and it was interesting that they had a slight deviation for the one male performer, then the rest of the seven or so females doing the same routine. It was interesting and refreshing at the same time. We went to the 12 days after Christmas show and it was a cute concept. Great for audience participation, since they have you do the 12 days song at the beginning of the performance. The trapeze artists were my personal favorite. The amount of skill and talent these performers have is astounding. Go see them if you have the chance. For $25 a ticket, you are seeing an absolute professional performance. The show is fantastic, but they also offer various lessons for those that may live in the area. They advertised camps/workshops in their facility, so that might be something to research if one is interested.

I have attended a few "Painting with a Twist" classes in Sarasota now, and I am absolutely hooked. My girl friends and I are thrilled that we found this studio - so many different classes are offered from canvas to wine glasses to wood plank and even tote bags. No matter what your artistic style is, PWAT Sarasota has something for everyone. The teachers are all super fun and engaging, but I have to give a huge shout out to Phil, as he is the reason I will continue going to this studio! Phil shared with us his knowledge and expertise in the art field in a way that was easy to follow, simple to replicate, and above all was FUN! Phil really knows how to get the party started and keeps it going the whole time you're in class, while still keeping everyone on track and painting. He truly is the perfect host - a mix of a teacher and entertainer - I cannot rave about Phil enough! I will definitely be requesting him to run my birthday party this October, and I highly suggest anyone reading this review do the same. Thank you PWAT Sarasota for creating a space where everyone can express themselves while still leaving with a gorgeous piece of art work! I wish I could give this studio 10 stars!!!!

Prepare a four course Italian meal alongside award winning cooking teacher and TODAY show regular Giuliano Hazan. Enjoy a day of cooking, eating, and drinking in true Italian style, within the Italianate warmth of the Hazan riverside home. The class concludes with a convivial finale at the table. Upcoming dates are available on the website.
I wa so excited to sign up for this class while vacationing in Naples. Giuliano and Lael were perfect hosts and welcomed us into their kitchen with warmth and ease. We each had a cutting board and knife and 10 of us stood around the kitchen island, chopping and watching the Italian Master as he talked with us through a fabulous White Asparagus Risotto, a delicious Lamb Braise and a colorful Zucchini with Mint and Basil! We made Strawberry Gelato in his Italian Ice Cream maker and it tasted as smooth and flavorful as at a parlor! Truffle , their cute pup entertained us from time to time. We sat down at a beautifully set table complete with colorful Italian glassware and Giuliano and Lael joined us. It was a delightful time! I'll be back when next in Naples.

My Wife "Janet" decided to take a class in Glass Art and she of course "Dragged" me along. I am so glad she did, although I wish I had more time to think about the "Project". To start you are given a quick tour of their kilns and materials. You are given: A flat piece of clear glass that you must clean. Glass cutters (scorers). Glass crimps for breaking the glass you just scored. A great amount of different colored glass to "Create" from, along with some colored glass dust and shapes you can buy to add to your project, no great cost. The ideas and design are all on you. You make the design laying the pieces on the flat clear glass, when you are done you take a very thin watery type of glue and just make sure nothing moves until it gets to the kiln. The piece gets fired; glass melts to glass. Then it is placed in a second kiln with a mold under it and it melts into the shape of a bowl. While we were there other people had paid to make a Vase in the same manner. It was a totally Awesome ... I say that being 63. Go home and wait a few days they will call you to come pick up your "Art". Janet made a beach scene with palm tree, I made an Abstract of my Heart attack from 7 years ago. Next time I want to try a Vase. Parking is a little tight but since you have to make an appointment not that big a deal. Go online and check it out then go do some Art. I know I'm so glad I told my wife about it:)
