This project was started by a group of peasant families who have decided leave aside activities with a negative impact on the environment (like intensive agriculture and livestock) and work in tourism. These families saw that the place what has always been their home is a paradise of landscapes, biodiversity and cultural experiences. And now they want to show this paradise, and everything it offers, to the rest of the world. This trek is outside of others tourist treks saturated with visitors, wildlife full, ancient rainforests, impressive waterfalls, friendly people and stunning views of the mountains and the Caribbean Sea. Of course, to get to the most beautiful places requires great effort, hiking along steep slopes, grass fields, forests and mountains. As such, it is necessary to be in a good physical and mental condition. You will be rewarded at the end of each day, when we will be welcomed, eat and sleep in the peasants houses where we will have a cultural exchange.

Separated from the Andes mountain chain by plains & deserts, the Sierra Nevada is a self-contained microcosm of diverse ecoregions & lifeforms containing thick, misty jungles, snow capped peaks, rare & unusual species, ancient lost cities, & isolated indigenous people rich with culture and tradition, all of which steep these mountains in myth and intrigue. This journey is full of wildlife, waterfalls, stunning views, and an adrenaline.

This is simply a wonderful day and a fantastic mix of adventure, nature, culture and relaxation. You'll be collected by from your hotel in Santa Marta and relax in your air-conditioned vehicle for the drive to Palomino. Once here you'll change to the back of a motorbike for the next 15-20min before enjoying an ecological walk of approximately 1.3 hours. You'll then arrive at the Kogi Village called Sevianca. Where you'll be greeted by the giant smiles of indigenous children. They'll be expecting a small gift, so don't disappoint; candy, book, toy, etc. (Suggested value of a gift $2 USD). You'll have approximately 30 minutes full of fun and photos before carrying on to tubing down the Palomino River. For this part you'll simply relax and let the current do all the work for the next 3.3-4 hours. Following your tubing tour, you'll be collected by your transportation once again and relax for the journey back to your hotel in Minca or Santa Marta.

If you'd like to spend time with one of the oldest cultures in Colombia, this is the tour for you! You will be collected from your Santa Marta hotel and be driven in a comfortable air-conditioned vehicle to a meeting point in Palomino. Once here you'll be transferred to the back of a motorbike for the next stage of this adventure. You'll absolutely love the scenery as you cruise with the air in your hair for around 1 hour to get to the Kogi Village of Tungueca. Once here you'll be greeted with the smiling indigenous children, who'll be expecting a small gift, so please don't disappoint; candy, books, toy, etc. (Suggested value of gift $2 USD). Once you've arrived at the Tungueca village you'll enjoy visiting and interacting with their culture for approximately an hour. You'll see how they live and enjoy their simple life away from the cities, before heading off to take a refreshing swim nearby.
