With a comfortable climate that varies little throughout the year, Sanremo has been a favored tourist destination since the mid-1700s, attracting visitors from all over Europe, including heavy contingents of Russian and British aristocracy. For many, the long stretch of beach is the main attraction, but don’t miss the impressive casino or the hillside medieval section of town called La Pigna. Every year since 1951, the city has hosted Italy’s popular Sanremo Music Festival.

I decided to write a review, when i read the others. Is it possible that no one recognizes masterpieces when they are not in museums ? nobody has mentioned Gio Ponti hall, nobody appreciates beautiful staircase with flower decoration or huge Murano chandeliers, nobody likes Art Nouveau architecture, so typical of Belle Époque. Did you visit the small theatre with perfect acoustic ? Do you know that the plans of our Casino were submitted and approved by great Garnier architect who lived nearby in Bordighera? And, for those who are not interested in art, did you notice the banana trees at the entrance that Always are charged with bananas (a miracle at our latitude) ?
