Things to do in San German, Puerto Rico: The Best Museums

This structure located in the heart of San German used to be the home of the Ramirez de Arellano family, a well-known family in the 20th century. Today, this two story building is an all-around museum that consists of nine exhibition rooms that feature significant religious objects and paintings from important artists from the Island. It even has a visual representation of the "original" Ramirez de Arellano family dinning room.

This historical landmark, located in front of the Interamerican University, served as an opened door to San German's town. It controled the urban limit and hosted important visits. Today, this small structure holds the memory of what was once a fundamental step to enter the town.

It consists of four exhibition halls decorated by significative moments of the history of San German, starting with our native Indians, the tainos. This museum also has an exhibition hall of the Atleticos, San German's basketball team, making it a destination for sports fans.

This landmark used to be the Sanabria Residence, also known as the Componte home. It was the home of the birth of the repressive movement founded by ex-governor Romualdo Palacios in 1887 with the revolutionary intention of defeating the Spanish regimen. Today, due to natural disasters, all there is left are the ruins and the memory of a revolutionary spark.
