National AIDS Memorial Grove

This is a spectacular part of Golden Gate Park, serene, but so much more. It has a very important purpose to memorialize those who have died from AIDS. But it also serves as a truly beautiful garden for all to enjoy. Very close to the entrance to the Park.

Golden Gate Park Windmills & Tulips

Reviewed By AdvtrTrvlr - Camarillo, United States

There are 2 windmills at the western most end of Golden Gate Park. The Dutch Windmill is at the north corner and has a beautiful tulip garden which was in full bloom the 3rd week of March. It’s a very small park with the windmill and tulips gardens in the immediate area but is a must see particularly in spring when the flowers are in bloom. There are no public restrooms and there can be many people even in slow times because the park is very small. We loved the park and would highly recommend visiting. At the other corner of the south end of Golden Gate Park is the Murphy Windmill which has just a Windmill to see along with a small keepers house and a couple placards with history but nothing else in that immediate area.

Music Concourse

Reviewed By mini - Fremont, United States

We went to the Muisc Course Area of Golden Gate Park. Its the park area between the de Young Museum and the Californa Academy of Sciences. It was originally put in place for the California Midwinter International Exposition of 1894. There are statues and fountains to see. One of the major areas is the Spreckels Organ area. It is called the Bandshell" and was a gift from sugar magnate Claus Spreckels. There is a large parking garage underneath the Music Concourse area. Its a great place to park if one visits Golden Gate Park with a car.
