Every neighborhood in San Francisco has its own personality, from the hippie chic of the Upper Haight to the hipster grit of the Mission. The Marina district boasts trendy bistros and postcard-perfect views of the Golden Gate Bridge, while Noe Valley offers quaint and quiet boutiques. Wave hello to the sea lions at Pier 39, and sample local cheese and charcuterie at the Ferry Building. Sit in on a yoga session in Dolores Park or marvel at the Dutch Windmill across from Ocean Beach.

House in which the band, the Grateful Dead, lived from 1965-1968.
You can't get inside but I was in the neighborhood for dinner early so I stood out front to take it in and bonded with some traveling Dead Heads who were there to capture the moment as well. Friendly neighbors informed us that but this house is in walking distance to Janis Joplin's old home. Just strolling around Haight Ashbury was inspiring trip back in time to the Summer or 69.

An important stop on our Hendrix pilgrimage to San Fran. Soak up the sounds, sights & smells(!) of Haight Ashbury - wonderfully colourful and eclectic.
