Every neighborhood in San Francisco has its own personality, from the hippie chic of the Upper Haight to the hipster grit of the Mission. The Marina district boasts trendy bistros and postcard-perfect views of the Golden Gate Bridge, while Noe Valley offers quaint and quiet boutiques. Wave hello to the sea lions at Pier 39, and sample local cheese and charcuterie at the Ferry Building. Sit in on a yoga session in Dolores Park or marvel at the Dutch Windmill across from Ocean Beach.

We chose the macaroon class with Chef Eloise. We arrived at her personal residence for the class. She was very professional and cordial. She had all the ingredients laid out on the table with professional equipment. She also provided printed out instructions for us to take home. The class is 2 hours long. We had a blast making Red Velvet-Cream Cheese Merengue Macaroons! Highly recommend this class for a fun date. I’m excited to experiment in my own kitchen with her recipes.

This class helped me to clarify many of the questions that I've had about making sourdough bread. Cat Shimizu is an experienced teacher and sourdough bread baker. The 3-hour class covered all of the questions I had about baking sourdough bread, was well-paced and actually ended right on time. Amazing...and this includes feasting on fresh bread, cheeses, fruit and charcuterie that Cat provided. We all went home with a loaf that we made in class, a starter, and a loaf that we prepped and needed to proof in the banneton that was provided to each of us. If you follow the directions, you really do end up with a wonderful loaf of San Francisco sourdough bread! I highly recommend this class if you are interested in learning how to make an authentic flavorful loaf of SF sourdough bread!
