The Fundacion Cristino de Vera- Espacio Cultural CajaCanarias contains the extraordinary collection of works donated by Cristino Vera (Tenerife, 1931), one of the most relevant artists of the Spanish Art of the 20th centuryThe building, the headquarters of the Fundación, located on a housing of the eighteenth century, preserves the traditional elements of Canary Islands architecture and constitutes a point of reference when you visit San Cristóbal de La Laguna, World Heritage City.
We went to see Cristina De Vera exhibition which was a kind of pointillism style - I liked the two landscape paintings of Toledo best. Other unusual paintings on display. Building had amazing wooden floors and ceilings. Free after 5 on Friday afternoons.

Notable example of an 19th century Canary Islands stately home, whose rooms are mostly used for displays on various aspects of Tenerifè´s rural history.

The museum is a typical Canary Island home built in 1703 by the Irish merchant Bernardo Valois. The house was the family residence of the collector Cayetano Gómez Felipe, who was from La Palma. Within its rooms, different types of objects with varied origins related to art and daily Canary Island life from the 16th to the beginning of the 20th centuries can be visited

Come to this unusual museum and discover the laws and principles that govern nature and the universe.
It was soooo amazing! If you are into science and have kids of any (and I mean it – any) age with you, that’s the place to be. We have spent 3h in this museum and honestly – we could have spent twice as much. It’s very hands-on experience, there is even room for toddlers (toddler science – how cool is that??) to explore. My kids (5 & 8) had an amazing time in this museum and we will definitely return on our next visit to Tenerife.

A place for folk history and reflection on contemporary culture, for driving on the past of the island and recording the present.
The building is the real star here - it has been beautifully restored and offers a great vision of wealthy life in the Canary islands. Add to this interesting exhibits covering the history of the islands and the life of the inhabitants over the last 500 years and this makes for a very worth while visit. The best of the local museums for my money. Admission was free.

The day tour of the observatory is a good insight into its unique location and a chance to see solar eruptions (we did) or spot (we did not) through a telescope. Overall, informative and enjoyable. The night sky is very special, in particular before the moon rises. Dress warmly for the night tour, even in the middle of the summer.
