Casa Romantica Cultural Center and Gardens in San Clemente, CA is south Orange County's major cultural institution. We are enhanced by our location in a 1927 Spanish Colonial Revival registered historic landmark, the home of San Clemente founder Ole Hanson. Casa Romantica has developed a reputation for wide-ranging cultural programming, including music, art, dance, theater, horticulture, and a lecture series that bring international talent to south Orange County. Casa Romantica's estate, gardens, and exhibition galleries are open to the public daily during our normal hours. Onsite parking is FREE.
For only $5 you can tour the home of Ole Hanson, the founder of San Clemente. The home's design is a perfect match for the landscape. The rooms are bright and open, the pocket doors in the courtyard let in the sea breeze. Ole's office has great views of the ocean and the pier. There are historical displays of neighboring cities like Venice and Huntington Beach, the history of surfing and Indiginous People history. It was all very informative and interesting. A great way to spend an afternoon.

Farmers market first Sunday of each month. San Clemente is a cross between a surf town with a feeling of a little bit of Europe thrown in. It is a favorite day trip with the market, pier, shops, and restaurants. Love visitng the art gallery across the green space from the library for beautiful local art shows on display.. Walking down Avenuda Del Mar to the ocean and pier is a great walk.

A must stop on the way to San Diego from LA. This outlet has expanded the number of stores quite a bit since I visited last. The outlets at San Clemente includes many of my favorites stores like the pop up Lululemon store, Black and White, Ralph Laurence, Coach, Tumi, Under Armor and more. My wife comes here solely to shop at Black and White. This is one of the few outlets has the Black and White store. She also likes to shop at Lululemon too. I like the fact this outlet has the Pearl Izumi bike apparel shop. Again not too many outlets has this store. In fact, this is the only outlet I have been too has this brand. This is also a good rest stop since this is almost half way to San Diego from LA. There are a few restaurants here too with good food. I normally dine at Ruby’s restaurant. They have very good fries and burgers. During the holiday season, this outlet is very festive with exotic Christmas decorations. The outlet features the tallest Christmas tree in California, maybe the whole of the US. It is nice to feel the Christmas spirit here amidst the depressing feelings of the Pandemic.
Bamboo and Beyond is a importer of furniture, arts and crafts from Bali. The goods in the store are primarily made from Eco-friendly, renewable resource materials. You will fall in love with the tropical island feel.

We offer complimentary coffee and comfy chairs, (in case you want to sort through your stacks of books comfortably, while deciding which ones you want to take home!)
