Salisbury (/ˈsɔːlzbəri/ SAWLZ-bə-ree) is a city in North Carolina and the county seat of Rowan County, North Carolina, United States. The population was 33,663 in the 2010 Census (growing 27.8% from the previous Census in 2000). Salisbury is the home to famed North Carolina soft drink, Cheerwine, regional supermarket Food Lion, and the National Sportscasters and Sportswriters Association. It is one of only two cities in North Carolina to have gigabit capacity through its municipally-owned broadband system Fibrant. A press conference held September 3, 2015 at Catawba College announced Salisbury's Fibrant system is now capable of 10 gigabit capacity town-wide; believed to be the only town owned system in the world with this capacity.

A FREE family friendly evening of fun and fellowship for all! After celebrating our newspaper’s centennial in 2005, the Salisbury Post now sponsors a new community tradition. The annual Pops at the Post with the Salisbury Symphony Orchestra held the first Saturday in June.

Piedmont Players Theatre, Inc., A non-profit 501(c)3, owns and operates both the historic Meroney Theater and the all-youth Norvell Theater in downtown Salisbury, NC. In addition to 5 Meroney shows and 5 Norvell Youth shows each year, PPT offers an array of theatre classes, workshops and summer camps each year.
The NC Symphony will be performing in Keppel Auditorium on January 18th, 2018 at 7:30pm. The Fifth Grade Honor’s Chorus and the Salisbury Symphony pair up for this community oriented concert featuring music from Leonard Bernstein and other well know prodigies of music! The concert will be held on the Livingstone College Campus in Varick Auditorium on February 18th, 2018 at 4:00pm.
